My wife works here and shes absolutely miserable. Nothing but drama at work with coworker and management does nothing about it. Its a toxic work environment gossip everywhere. Wouldnt recommend working here unless you LOVE stress.

Update I am a caregiver and I have brought my loved one here a couple of times and so far its been ok. The staff are nice however they dont have a lot to offer as far as specialists. Their dental clinic is just basic services like cleaning x-rays. They dont do Root canals for one. They would rather extract your tooth. None of the dentists there will perform Root canals. Good luck finding a dental specialist that takes Medicaid in this area. Its really a shame that Medicaid doesnt match the other insurances when it comes to speciality services. Its also a shame that this facility wouldnt perform all services. There is no where else to go for disabled folks. The disabled deserve better

I worked here for 2 years as a direct support staff. This is by far one of the worst places you could ever work In the healthcare field. Management bullies their staff when you try to reach out to anyone higher up in HR they dont take it serious or even seem to care. The individuals would not have the proper necessities in the residential homes. It was just the worst place on earth Because of management staff

note this review is not of their services but of their website contradicting who they actually serve. if you have ADD and nothing else diagnosed anyway that qualifies you please readdespite what their website says they do NOT consider ADD a developmental disability. even though it is. if you dont also have something else you do not qualify for their services. even though their website lists it. I know its infuriating.

Their name should be just Center for Disability because they forget the services part. I was registered in both their primary and dental practices. They are just not confident or competent enough to provide services. I went to their Primary Care practice for a sleep aid. I got offers for an anti-depressant that I would have to take daily when I specifically stated I wanted something as needed and did not want a mood altering drug or submit to a voluntary pharmaceutical addiction. Granted Ive been diagnosed with a mental disability but I believe disabilities are something you should overcome and not be addicted to - they do not. She would not provide me a sleep aid telling me I had to go to a medication therapist instead. Their dental practice is shoddy superficial and scattered. Both their primary care and dental practices rely upon outsourcing and subcontracting - the providers they have are subcontractors or they must outsource specific treatments. The place is like a clearing house for nothing - you go in there needing something and you are sent here or there or somebody comes there to meet with you and you end up with nothing they are like contractors for subcontractors like an unhealthy redundancy like breathing in out breath - carbon monoxide.

I have been a patient here at The Center For Disability Services for a while I am not happy with the service I get from you guys which is why I have given TCFDS a 3 star. Whenever I have to have a prescription refilled and it reads on the bottle No refills - a doctor must authorize I havent been to see my DR in a while they will not fill my prescription its very annoying because I sometimes go days even weeks without my prescription I am in need of. Also when making appointments confirming them with me they are NOT good with calling to confirm Ill be there my last appointment I supposidly had back in October 2018 I didnt know about. Im not happy with you guys at all.

If you need a job to just get by until you find a better one then take this job but if you need to make a a decent living do not work here. The wage is below standard 13.50 to 14.50 an hour. You will struggle to make overtime and it goes by seniority management does not care about you..you are expendable. There are two locations and the second one is inconvenient unless you live in Niskayuna the transportation division operates like a school bus company You have an AM run and a PM run. You have a 3 hour break between that so you will only be compensated for 8 hours. If you want overtime you have to do a midday run such as a field trip. The center is unionized but the union does nothing for the workers they are in the companys pocket. The center is considered a non-profit but they are turning a profit by doing mail sorting and they have a contract with a pet food company. So there is money to go around because they receive donations as well but the drivers will not see any of that money. You work with special-needs individuals transporting them and you will receive next to no training you simply ride along with a driver and an assistant and watch what they do and then they throw you out there in two days. Its basically on-the-job training which isnt sufficient. Watch your back and your mouth because dispatchers and their friends are professional snitches. There are annual bonuses but when you break it down weekly for the year theyre basically just giving you an extra 50. Like I said at the beginning if you NEED a job to get by until you find a better one thentake this position. Thats what I did however if you want to make a a true decent living go elsewhere. This position is for retirees and part-timers people with particular situations that dont need anything more also new drivers who just use them to get their CDL because they will help you get a CDL but once you get it leave
