Stepping Forward

We came to Stepping Forward last year when our child desperately needed a break from a hectic and toxic school environment. Their ADHD made it specially difficult to cope and before we realized there were symptoms of burnout that they could not overcome on their own. We realized they needed to be removed from the school environment right the way. We needed to find an alternative to being at home on the phone all day bust most importantly we needed a care plan the would help them recover and give them tools to go back to their life better prepared and as soon as posible. We didnt know where to start the Doctor treating them for ADHD and related issues explained that we needed a Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP. and gave us some recommendations to get started. The first place they attended was a terrible fit 3 days into it they would refuse to get out of the car. Knowing that your child is in pain depleted and ready to give up is very difficult to make sound decisions. We decided to call other centers but did not know if our child was going to agree to try again. We were very fortunate to come across Stepping Forward our child was extremely resistant to the whole thing but to our great relief even though the intake interview was virtual SF managed to make them relax change their mind and open to giving it chance. We attended full time for over three months the difference Stepping Forward made during this time was remarkable. The quality professionalism and competence of the staff was superb and the determination they had to help was palpable. Our child is a complex case that requires most of all patience because it takes them a long time years to open up trust and accept help. We had never seen the amount of progress we experienced here. The therapeutic and medical staff was very skilled and intuitive at recognizing our needs and planning accordingly. They called immediately after the first day and were in touch with us constantly throughout the entire experience. We cant say enough good things about the positive impact SF had on our child family.

Stepping Forward is truly an amazing program. The staff are amazing kind smart and encouraging. My daughter always struggled connecting with therapistsclinicians however she built an amazing bond with Sarah. She really understood her and helped tremendously. The atmosphere is positive and supportive and the skills being taught have helped immensely. This program goes above and beyond and treats each client as an individual. Highly recommend

I have been hoping for a counseling center to be exactly what Stepping Forward is. In comparison to four other programs that were supposed to help my children regain the mental health self-confidence and productive life they once had Stepping Forward is the one and only to date that I can fully recommend Here families work with a group of professionals who are caring proactive inclusive inspiring and focused on your childs recovery. We entered the Stepping Forward program with our child at age 10. He was struggling with intrusive thinking due to OCD and severe anxiety. We had first tried another program that was a terrible fit Stepping Forward was a life saver for us Every staff person was professional ethical kid and caring. I can not recommend this program enough.

Ms. Ryan I am sorry but I disagree with you. Stepping Forward is a place that changes childrens lives for the better. Its a place that the staff is loving and kind and go beyond the call of duty. From the first phone call talking to the person about the program and prices is where the great service begins. The service is worth so much more than the fee that they charge. The psychiatrist and team working with the school district to them helping my child transition back to school is priceless. The counselors and the staff are truely amazing This program goes beyond the 5 stars

As a former client of the past would say recommend. Sarah was very well for the most part. Would say Dr. Osmanova is well and still have her as a psychiatrist to this day. One thing I will say is maybe make sure if they still have a cooking class to make sure not to make anything with the food allergies. Christine I also remember was pretty well for the most part. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a child with any issues and would work well with people with special needs.

I wish I could give Stepping Forward 10 stars I have 3 children each with different mental and behavioral health issues so I have dealt with many many agencies and programs - and Stepping Forward is by far the best facility Ive ever worked with. Their approach is smart and thoughtful and effective. Christine and her team are caring and accommodating and wonderfully kind - they are angels. I can say without a doubt that they genuinely love my son. And the program is also an amazing support resource for me as a parent. I continue to recommend Stepping Forward wholeheartedly

Stepping Forward was truly a godsend. We found ourselves in deep crisis mode with our daughter at the beginning of this summer and no intensive therapeutic programming in-person available in the state of NJ due to Covid. Ann and her team worked after hours and over their break to create as smooth a transition as possible from acute care to their summer programming. The entire team works tirelessly to deliver warm safe compassionate responsive and truly individualized care - all within a group setting. As promised they met her exactly where she was with her needs and adapted as needed over the summer. We didnt know whether we would be able to keep our daughter at home with us based on her symptoms and over the course of this summer their care made that possible. We are forever grateful. They have helped her and all of us gain much needed insights as well as entirely helpful skills. Between their care and our daughters hard work over the summer her care plan has progressed from residentialboarding programs to therapeutic day school to mainstream schooling today. If your child or family is in need of care call them.

We just started with Stepping Forward a few weeks ago and we couldnt be happier. The staff is extremely warm supportive and responsive and the program content keeps our child engaged and challenged. We are so pleased with our decision to join Stepping Forward. The owner Christine has been extremely flexible and accommodating. She is gracious and open minded and we are grateful for her professionalism as well as for the support from Ann and Melissa and the rest of the wonderful staff during her beginning weeks in the program.

I cant quite put into words how grateful we are to the staff at Stepping Forward for all that they have done for our family. My son has developed such a wonderful bond with his therapist and his face lights up as soon as he sees her. We have seen a tremendous improvement in such a short amount of time and cant wait to see what his future holds. The entire staff of the Center from the receptionists administrative staff and therapists are incredibly warm and welcoming putting us completely at ease from day one. Not only have they helped my son become the best version of himself but they have also taugh us how to be better parents so that we can help him achieve some truly amazing goals.
