I lived here in the early 80s andI saw first hand how the Sisters treated the boys and children with Autism. They were abusive verbally and physically abusive.

As the P.E. and Health teacher for 12 years I would strongly recommend being an employee in St. Colmans Emotional Disability Program. This is a great place to work for those quick thinkers and caring individuals.

I was sent to Saint Colmans home April 9 1968. I was physically abused and beaten on a regular basis. I remember every one of the nuns name that beat me. They also took pride in the way that they beat us. I will never ever forget that horrible experience I was there for three years. And I remember everyone of their faces very vividly. Some of them had custom made paddles or sticks that they would use. They often humiliated us by pulling our clothes down and beating us in front of the rest of the children. Would make us wash our dirty underwear standing there naked. Believe that they hated us. Like I said I remember everyone of their faces and I knew all their names.

I grew up here with my siblings back in the 1960s. Today I am still in contact with St. C. I was very blessed by some of the Sisters who still reside there. God bless them and God bless St. C.

I wait here every day for a few students to come out. They let us in if we have to use the restroom. There is also an educational opportunity center as well.
