About The Ecumenical Center - Northern Hills United Methodist Church – Ministry Center

At The Ecumenical Center, we serve as a catalyst to bring together community leaders in the research, education, medical and mental health professions. The purpose is to allow us to offer professional help and hope in a caring atmosphere. Our counselors and educators recognize that the body, mind and spirit are interrelated. They are people of personal faith with an openness and understanding of other faith expressions, trained to incorporate, when requested, the understandings and traditions of the client’s individual beliefs in the growing and healing process.

Dear AnnaMae I am sorry you had a bad experience. The problem you had could have been during a time when there were school children there. That is when the church is closed for their protection. There is an agreement they have with the organization Project Transformation the summer and after school reading program. Me and my family are members there and we are Black. Even when I go there during those times I am restricted access to the restroom until the children are all out of there and an adult goes to check before I am allowed in. The pastors are Hispanic. We have been welcomed at the Ministry Center from the very beginning a few years ago and at the larger church on 1604. We joined there 15 years ago. Many of the members at both locations are friends for life and would give you the clothes off their back. One family even gave us their car I hope you come back one day and have a better experience.

I have never been denied using the restroom its a place of worship that helps the neighborhoodclean restrooms that are open to all bus drivers use them often you can sit inside to escape the heat. Our Lord God the Fathers house his spirit dwells there as he does in all churches the places where we can feel his presence. Jesus loves you remember that always.

These guys are great Theyre out there serving free coffee and donuts to bus riders every Wednesday morning praying with folks who are going through a hard time worship services on Saturdays and Sundays helping teach kids to read school supply drives you name it. Its great to see a church putting their money where their mouth is and really connecting with the community.
