We love it here just wish it had some of the features round rock has. Some of the bungee classes the line dancing lady wont do the newer dances and that is what the younger crowd is wanting. I want to learn what they are doing in the dance halls.

Never ever realized how this entire place appears to be run by children or young folks that cant deal with anything major coming their wayif there is anything you need them to find for you takes 20-60 mins and they need to call 3 other peopleAnd no one knows where anything isEven if youre a volunteer up here it might take them ages to figure anything out for you.Prepare to have lots ofTime to spend They might also let young children be utilizing all of the machines next to you when your working out.Usually its run by a bunch of 18-year-olds and under. And not very well organizedIts a shame because I like the locationI will Say its great for summer camps thats why we are members .But the actual location isnt greatAnd their cleaners they use for machines are sooo chemical laced I get an instant headache walking in the building .They have no fans Like cooling down or blowing on the chemicals to fix this. How could we workout inhaling that gunkWhats the point of cleaning with straight up chemicals There are other ways to clean thingsCan you guys please get some older folks in here to handle things Get them some trainingsIve never worked at or volunteered at a location or facility like this where young 18 and 19 year old staff members told me to calm down And held their hand up to my face as a means of calming someone downThey would all do well to take some serious online training courses in how to handle somebody who is putting up a boundary to a man for safetyHow to handle traumatic situations and keep woman safeTo be very clearIn my situation just to be really clear there was a man yelling in my face and I was telling him to lower his voice and stop talking to me like that the staff member actually had his back instead of mine and literally told me to calm down then raising a hand up to me.I was honestly shocked.I have never experienced a female staff member at a place actually having a males back and talking down to another woman and saying the words calm down lady to someone who is having a grown man move away from here for safety and well beingThey really have their priorities messed upVery sad . Get these kids into some serious training.Make them mandatory courses they need to take in order to work here. Thank you

Signed up for the intro swim class with our baby it was a huge waste of money and time. The instructor just said to practice kicks with no indiction of how to do that. There were no songs games or anything interactive actually she never even know my name or my childs name. When I followed up I never got a response from the director. Really disappointed and wont be returning.

This Y is great. Daniel the aquatics director is a wonderful and patient instructor. He is very good at helping swimmers at any stage of their conditioning with one-on-one instruction and he pushes to bring in new programs for members. The Hays Y has a wonderful community of members and employees. I feel extremely welcome there. I love going 3x a week.

One word. Overcrowded. Long wait on.machines. the Y sells an unlimited number of memberships to a very limited space. With the new high school and middle school right next door it becomes excessively crowded once school lets out. The area has and continues to have explosive population growth so it seems it will only get worse until Golds or another gym opens up in the area.On the plus side staff members and kids are very polite and usually considerate.

Open gym at 715pm I get there wait 30 mins and volleyball isnt done I go complain to the front counters and they say that the girls are finishing up. LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE 45 MINS AGO. I saw the staff walk by many times even when it was our turn to use the court and they didnt care they just let it happen.

As an active older adult I am enjoying my membership to the max Though I frequent the Buda Sportsplex location via my membership I have worked out at the Austin Town Lake facility and intend to visit the other Buda location which is well-known for its beautiful pool.I particularly like the line dancing and yoga classes However my usual routine is 30 minutes on a recumbent bike then on to strengthening using all-new equipment and finally to the pool hot tub and dry spaAn added unexpected benefit is meeting so many nice people including the kind and helpful workers and other members Finally we can schedule group classes via the YMCA 360 app where we can also find all kinds of online classes - exercising dancing pickle ball lessons nutrition with healthy recipes and much more

I signed my 11 month old daughter up for swim lessons and I wouldnt call them lessons at all. There were a ton of kids in the pool and all spread out there was no structure. The teacher just said to practice kicks and moved away. I assumed they would be lessons for kids to move toward goals like floating and submerging. Not worth it at all.

Updating my review because the folks at the Hays YMCA have made changes to their layout and it is much more functional now. I appreciate that they listened to the feedback and moved the weight room. Now there are mirrors so one may monitor their form while lifting Hooray

The facility is clean and well maintained. I find the staff to be helpful and friendly. There is a pleasant mix of different age groups that creates a positive atmosphere. It has been a a real help to me in my quest to get back in shape and lead a healthy lifestyle.
