Focusing on Autism and intense sometimes radical behavioral modification Sawtelle is awesome for teaching essential academics various life skills and providing exemplary speech occupational and other therapy for special needs individuals. This includes ABA style behavior modification. An excellent education institution. Tuition is a bit expensive. The use of isolation and ambulatory restraint in which staff hold the misbehaving individual immobile maximum of 15 minutes by use of specialized human holding techniques is used a bit too liberally.Although the grunts who perform the restraints on the kids are trained and supervised the techniques are very detrimental to the child and have been proven to likely cause post traumatic issues. The safety and tranquility of the students and staff is very important at this specialized learning center. As of this school year no students have been seriously injured physically due to the ART restraint techniques.

My 15 year old son who has Autism at a moderate level began attending Sawtelle two years ago. This education establishment is positively incredible. The educators and staff have changed my sons behavior for the better. Before my son attended Sawtelle he expressed serious physical aggression issues and oppositional behavior. My son is flourishing now.The entire staff are awesome and extremely attentive to each unique students needs. There is a resident BCBA Board Certified Behavior Analyst excellent occupational therapy and speech therapy as well as a life skills program..There is one-on-one studentbehavior tech supervision available. Sawtelle also has an optional extended school year. There are summer camps in July and August offering sleep over and daily service. This learning center was the best choice I ever made.
