Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital

My family went through a whirlwind. My dad had a cough. It wasnt a cough that was alarming. Covid was ruled out so we felt good. A couple of weeks later the coughing wasnt better. Dad was going back and forth to the doctors to get some medication to help with his cough. By this time he was beginning to be hoarse.January 29th at 2 am Dad couldnt breathe. We called 911. This would be the 1st of 3 times needing to call 911 for him.We encountered concerned empathetic and very professional healthcare workers. From the EMTs the Emergency Room security Nurses and Doctors.There are many things being said about Wellstar particularly Spalding Wellstar. Im here to tell you that my family is grateful for the crew we encountered.My dads cough ended up being Lung Cancer. He was diagnosed on February 19 2024. The family was told on February 27th that there were nothing more that could be done for my dad.Even in this moment we had professional care and concern of all who were there on shift.My family really appreciate all of the hard work and dedication of both Spalding and Kennestone Wellstar employees.This experience was hard emotionally taxing and most of the words spoken to us was confusing the sincerity and empathy given to us along with the professionalism during this experience helped us to understand and process the information while enduring such a hard and very emotional situation.My dads name is Isaac Etheridge Sr. He passed on March 1 2024. Thank you to all who assisted us. You all are true heroes.-God bless-

Wellstar Spalding great for test. I did e-check in at home. All I had to do once there was give them my name and be seated. Then they come get me and direct me to my procedure. How easy is that. Ive had Bone Density Test X-ray Ultrasounds and Blood work preformed. They are excellent.

The worst experience of my life.. was in accident in March 2023 person ran light and big insertion in griffin hit me and truck flipped. My jeep was hit almost head on and pole. I was taken to this hospital by ambulance. I was busted up Bruised bleeding etc. Once I got there I was hallway waiting to go in room emergency. The instructed the EMT to go get a wheelchair put me in off the cot. Then I was not taken to a room but put in outside waiting room. In middle people who clearly admitted to having covid.hostile environment in the area as well. Had not seen doctor or nurse yet. Injuries very visible to naked eye were not being treated. This where I sat.After hour or so nurse comes out to ask me very personal private info in the area I was sitting. I asked why am I still here she claimed no rooms. I sent my son to walk back there and look. Empty rooms not cleaned. Pics. Later comes with pain pill to give me.not seen doctor yet.furious at the treatment recieved. I left dont you know 2 days later I recieved 13k bill from an attorney of hospital. For what No treatment. No room. No results. No meds. No Rx and I didnt sign anything..The staff was rude all of them. And no help. I feel for the people of th is town who have rely on this hospital for treatment. If you can drive further to another.. your life may depend on it.

The LD Department is amazing The entire staff of nurses and the anesthesiologists are compassionate people. My babies and I were treated so well

I was so nervous about having my 3rd c - section done at this hospital due to all the bad reviews and hate it gets. Im 5 days postpartum and I can honestly say this c section was way more comfortable then the first 2 I had at Fayette piedmont. The entire staff is accommodating and caring. The process was smooth and quick. The rooms were big and clean. My anesthesiologist Ginger was amazing thank god for her. My nurses Sandra Bri were so kind and attentive. My doctor Krepps was fantastic. Im so grateful for everyone at this hospital that made my stay so comfortable. Thank you Griffin Wellstar

I just want to take the time to give Mrs. Summer the intake RN in the emergency room her flowers. I took my son to the ER for chest pains she was very empathetic and knowledgeable. Summer showed genuine interest and compassion for the well being of many son. It is not everyday that you get to see a nurse that really puts in this levers of effort to help you with your health issues. Thank you Mrs. Summer. We will not forget the way you made us feel and how you treated us.

If I can give this place a zero I would. Went to see my dad on 111523. When I walked in and saw the condition he was in I couldnt believe my eyes. First I cried with out him seeing me. Didnt want to upset him. Then I got myself together and put on a good face for him. His nurse or MA or whatever she was was sooooo useless. Octavia is her name. I cleaned his face and the amount of dirt found was ridiculous. When I was done he said thank you.It Broke my heart. Octavia showed no compassion and acted like we were bothering her. Not to mention sending out a negative vibe. This hospital need to take seriously how they hire staff. This was unacceptable and my dad was not happy there. Lord knows what she did to him when we were gone. The trust was gone. I complained to the head Nurse but the overall experience was horrible. They said he had covid but that was suspect so who knows with this place. If you love your love ones I suggest that this is not the place. We found out the hard way had we known the narrative would be a lot different.

My grandmother was a patient at your Griffin Ga location. On January 3 two days before she passed she was injured by a CNA on the night shift. The woman left a large cut on her arm when she sat in her bed with something in her pocket then proceeded to hide my grandmothers call button and told her not to call to her again. We reported her but have received no follow up on this incident. She also said the nurses on the night shift would hide her button from her. She was obviously very ill and in need of assistance and I cannot even express how disappointed I am at the level of care she received there. The nurse that took the report kept saying her supervisor came in at 11 but the fact that an aid cut a patient that was so very ill and defenseless seems to be something the supervisor should have been made aware of immediately. Who knows what all they did to her. If I could do it over we would never have taken her there. This isnt going away just bc she didnt make it. I expect to be contacted Wellstar.

When we walked into the ER we noticed several patients sitting in the waiting area with an IV running. The only staff at the desk was the security officer and the administrative personnel. The patients were monitoring their own IV. The family members were going to the desk to let the admin staff know that the IV bags were empty.When the admin staff called us to the desk she obtained our info to check us in. There was a pin pad where we were required to put several signatures. However there was no way to really know what you were signing. The admin staff simply summarized what she saw on HER screen and asked us to sign the pin pad. Then she gave us a piece of paper with a phone number on it to call and complete the check in process over the phone. When did the check in process come to this This was the most unorganized Ive ever seen an ER. So basically the sick patients or their family is doing the work of the staff.Of course we were called to the back and also received an IV only to be sent back to the waiting area. Upon discharge we were told to return in 2 days if still having pain. Sure enough we had to return. This time there was a different ER doctor when we returned. He had no idea why the previous ER doctor would tell us to return in 2 days. This hospital needs to get it together because they are living up to all the negative comments.

Had a very great experience at wellstar. It was my first time giving birth and I delivered my 2 month old baby here. The nurses were friendly and helped me understand the process I was to go through and was there for me every step of the way. My delivery was quick and painless. I gained a lot of knowledge and insight about caring for my baby during my stay. I would definitely come here again if I were to ever have another baby. You could really tell they cared about me as a patient and a new mother.

DO NOT COME HERE. Bedbug in the bathroom. They missed a uti and said METRONIDAZOLE would treat it which is false.. I go in for nausea and dehydration they...
