Ive been here 7 years this month. I initially enjoyed working here but it seems things have went downhill. For the first 3 years I struggled a little but overall not that much. It was mainly because I still had to get used to medical work but Ive grown to enjoy it. The environment drama is absolute garbage. Lack of staff lack of communication horrific consistent life-draining schedule changes which lead to lack of adequate sleep consistent repetitive documentation consistent repetitive trainings where the material is so similar it all runs together becomes pointless above all lack of adequate pay for the work graphically frenetic stress that staff deal with. This place is simply a Dead End. Ive wasted several years away. The only good points about this place are the fantastic members my co-workers administrator the actual act of helping others. Thats it. In the end though I hate to say but dont work here. Its not worth the stress brutal schedule changes lack of sleep consistently not knowing what is going on til the very last minute .

Working here was a horrible experience while they were known as Waban. At the time I worked there I witnessed individuals rights being infringed upon heavily AND when I attempted to report to the state those reports would go nowhere. Without hard physical evidence- which wasnt possible due to phones not being allowed to be used for video purposes for privacy- there was nothing that I could do for my individuals to ensure their health and safety while working at the group homes. When I went to work at Frasier Ford during my pregnancy and was unable to perform my work duties due to having sacroiliac joint problems and an out of place hip their solution was to put me on an administrative leave without pay in order to force me to quit so they wouldnt have to pay me unemployment.Good thing I left because mental health companies across New England pay MUCH better for direct support professionals. Ive been making 20 an hour in other places for direct supports. Employees here can do much better than what Waypoint is hiring them for.
