Vivian Wong, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Therapist
9 Years of Experience

Introduction

Hi! My name is Vivian Wong, and I’m a pediatric speech and feeding therapist based in Redondo Beach, CA. With over 9 nine years of experience, I love helping children find their voice, build their confidence, and shine through talking and eating. Therapy sessions with me are play-based, family-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I specialize in pediatric feeding, gestalt language processing, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, early intervention, and articulation/phonology, and I hold extensive clinical knowledge and trainings in sensory-based pediatric feeding difficulties, IDDSI, PROMPT, DTTC, NLA, and DIR Floortime.

I’m passionate about partnering with families to help their children reach their fullest potential through fun, motivating, and empowering sessions. Outside of therapy, I love traveling, Pilates, exploring new restaurants, and playing tennis with my husband!

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Compassionate
Trustworthy
Collaborative
Compassion is integral to my speech and feeding therapy sessions, not just with my kids but also with their parents and caregivers. Starting speech or feeding therapy can be a new journey for some families, and I make sure that my clients and their families know that I'm there to support them by listening to their concerns and goals, working together, and providing compassionate care. As I build rapport with my clients and families, I also build trust. Trust allows me to build a safe, comfortable space where my clients can take risks, try new skills, and grow with confidence. Lastly, being collaborative reflects how essential parents and caregivers are in the therapy process. By working together, we create and work on meaningful goals, and we celebrate together at every milestone.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I’m best positioned to support infants and young children who need help with their speech, language, or feeding. I love working with families who are seeking a warm, collaborative partner who will meet their child where they are. I specialize in supporting early communicators, picky eaters, children with feeding challenges, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, gestalt language processors, and kids who benefit from play-based, child-led therapy!
