I have been seen by the UW Pain Clinic for a little while now. I have left every appointment feeling better than I did when I got to my appointment. All of my time has been well used and I have always been treated with care and professionalism. I hope to continue to improve. Thank you UW Moose

Called for an appointment was rudely rushed off the phone and told a charge nurse would call me back soon. After an hour no one called back so I did. My primary is gone until October and apparently the woman on the phone wanted to tell me about their staffing issues. I am the patient your staffing issues are NOT my problem. At least I get quality care at urgent care.

Nice clean place with good doctors. However I must state that Pain Management Clinics are 75 a joke and definitely a waste of time and money.I remember when pain management clinics became prevalent. It was so primary care docs did not have to prescribe long term narcotics to people with chronic pain. For those who do not know not long ago doctors were legally able to cut people off any prescription without explanation.Sending many people into withdrawal and causing serious health problems. They knew even when taking someone off an SSRI medication that they could have adverse and ill effects. They still did it. Doctors didnt want to lose their license to practice even tho they were prescribing high amounts of narcotics previously. So they came up with Pain Clinics. So doctors could send people there who fit the criteria. However they do not prescribe any medications. So basically if you have a chronic pain problem and you were on narcotics...the only real option for you is intense pain and withdrawal or to a Methadone clinic. How messed up is that We go from prescribing large amounts of narcotics like oxycontin and vicodin in the early 2000s to now prescribing NOTHING. YEAH THAT IS THE SOLUTION.Unreal.

Dr. Alaa A Abd-Elsayed Dr. Al is an impressive surgeon that drastically improved the quality of my life. I was experiencing excruciating debilitating 24 hour phantom pains after my accident which resulted in an amputation - opioids and other medications were not helping. He suggested trying SPR Therapeutics SPRINT PNS System which he implanted and the results were immediate. My primary adjusted some nerve medications and I have been pain free since without the use of opioids. He is not going to charm you with his bedside manner but that isnt important to me as he is a world class surgeon that demands positive results and will find a way to procure them for his patients. The rest of the staff was friendly helpful and took the time to listen. The facility is new clean and inviting. Some of the previous reviews mentioned incomplete or inaccurate information in their file. We reviewed my medications each time I was in there for accuracy as Im also in the VA Healthcare system. This process was easy and seamless.Im a strong advocate for the SPRINT PNS System and encourage all people with chronic pain to learn more about this device.

This place is way out of control. They almost did a procedure on the wrong side. I had to bring it up. They called 6 times in one day. One call just to tell me they needed to schedule an appointment. When I said go ahead whats open for you. She responded oh sir someone will call you to schedule it. I asked if it was for the same place she said yes. And wished me a good afternoon. Im sorry was that needed They also wanted to schedule out three to four appointments leading up to a procedure. They cancelled two times with only a few hours warning. They also seem to only recommend things my insurance will not cover. Its like they string people along until they become so frustrated and walk away. There are communicating barriers between staff as well as patients. And my longest appointment in office was 20 minutes but took over 2 months to get in. 2 more months to get the procedurethat didnt work and was almost done to wrong side. And because of all the back and forth games Im five months out from the original referral and worse off. One 20 minute appointment in five months is unacceptable. Thats like saying we might be able to help you but we will when we want to. Take from this what you will but I am pretty sure there are better choices. Doing nothing is a better choice then this place. In my opinion I think they milk the insurance for what they can and play with you to generate revenue. Remember doctors dont make money in people who feel good. Youve been told so now its your own fault if you go.

I suffered from chronic pain for years before seeing Dr. Rudin Dr. Therus and Dr. Mirgain. I also worked with Dr. Weber and Dr. Miniciello integrative medicine. I have a very complex medical history and I had tried round after round of physical therapy occupational therapy talk therapy surgeries medications massage breathwork alternative medicine and I was still just getting by. For a while I was mostly homebound. After working with this healthcare team I was able to get my pain under control go back to school and then successfully transition into software development and inovation. Im by no means cured but Im as well as I can be and I have the tools to manage the bad days or weeks.I dont believe there are quick fixes and it really takes a wholistic approach. For a long time rebuilding my health felt like a full time job with this teams help I improved the way I eat sleep breathe think move exercise changed my diet supplements ask for help set boundaries around my time and build a workrest schedule. I am still working on pacing as I do way too much on good days and then burn myself out til Im a loaf on bad days but its about progress not perfection. If you are looking for a pill or a quick fix this may not be the best place for you but if you are willing to work hard and partner with your providers I think they can really help. They actually talk to each other and can build a cohesive plan rather than a scattershot approach. They also can help you find other specialists like PTOT.Oh and P.S. I saw someones negative post about their doc not knowing about a drug being researched to replace opiates but there are so so many treatments coming down the pipeline its impossible to keep up when you work as a clinician. I admire a willingness to learn much more than I appreciate someone who pretends to know everything about an impossibly large and complex field. Due to some uncommon issues that I have my docs and I would sit around googling information to personalize my treatment. Wed consider meds they hadnt prescribed often and look into ways they would effect my body specifically. I brought a good attitude and we were able to work together.

Ive been shuffled through the UW Health system and the pain management clinic has been the best by far. Contacting them is easy. They respond in a timely manner after contacting my doctor. I see Doctor Rudin and I feel very comfortable in his care. He has many reliable backup plans if his first doesnt work. His team is very kind and efficient. His assistant Amy was particularly helpful and observant during one of my appointments. From the moment I walk into the office to the moment I leave I know Im in good hands. Although my pain has only been managed and isnt gone yet I have faith in my pain management clinic under Dr. Rudins care.

Amazing staff at the clinic and in the infusion center. From the front desk nurses physician assistant and doctor. Treated with respect both visits. There was no wait time for either visit as well. Disability accessible for a scooter too. There were automatic doors and accessible bathrooms. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.
