About Unique Pathways

Award-winning ABA Therapy for Grapevine, McKinney, and Sherman, Texas!

We provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental differences in a nurturing, sensory-friendly, and positive environment where every child is valued and supported.

Our experienced team of BCBAs and RBTs is dedicated to helping each child build meaningful life skills, increase independence, strengthen communication and social connections, and reach their fullest potential. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully individualized to meet the unique strengths, goals, and developmental needs of the child and family.

We believe the best outcomes come through collaboration. That’s why we work closely with parents, caregivers, schools, and other providers to create a unified, supportive approach to care.

As a privately owned therapy center, we are committed to providing compassionate, relationship-centered services driven by clinical integrity — not a one-size-fits-all model. Our focus is always on helping children thrive both inside and outside of therapy.

Our Mission

Unique Pathways, LLC is a private, unapologetically Christian organization whose mission is to empower parents, provide children a voice, and deliver quality intervention services to all families in a collaborative, innovative, and compassionate manner. We believe ALL children are created equal, and it is their divine right to be treated and served with the same dignity and respect every human deserves.

The Unique Pathways Difference

At our ABA center, no two programs look the same — because no two children are the same.

Every treatment plan is thoughtfully designed around the individual developmental needs, strengths, and goals of each child. Our programs focus on fostering flexible thinking, building meaningful relationships with peers and family, encouraging independence and self-advocacy, and teaching the life skills children need to thrive beyond therapy.

We do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach, and we don’t always recommend 40-hour therapy weeks. Our BCBAs carefully assess each child during the intake process and create a program based only on what is clinically necessary. For some children, that may mean comprehensive services. For others, targeted social skills support may be all that’s needed.

We are set apart by our commitment to serve individuals beyond the age limits many clinics impose. We do not "age out” clients just because they reach a certain age. Conversely, when a child has developed the skills necessary for independent success, we celebrate their graduation from services instead of extending therapy solely due to insurance coverage.

Our centers are thoughtfully designed to be warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate, creating spaces where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Each location also features dedicated outdoor play areas intentionally designed to encourage movement, exploration, social interaction, and meaningful play experiences.

Our goal has always been the same: to help children gain the skills, confidence, and independence they need to succeed in the real world — and ultimately live full lives beyond daily therapy sessions.

#NotanotherABAmill is not just our slogan; it is our culture.

Unique Pathways was founded on our four core values.

   > The Child

   > Our Mission

   > Our Team

   > Our Community

Quality over quantity, transparency, and collaboration are just a few of the virtues you can expect to find with us.

Founding Story

Hi, I'm Jennifer Helten. I am the owner and founder of Unique Pathways, and I would like to tell you about the journey that led me here.

I am always asked how I came into Applied Behavior Analysis. The simple answer is I fell into it.

I moved to Texas to work as a nanny when I was twenty years old. Three months into my employment, the family's third child was diagnosed with Autism. You have to understand, 25-years ago, the diagnosis rate for children affected with ASD was 1 in 10,000 children.

My only knowledge of Autism was based on the movie "Rain Man."

Fast forward two years, and I decided to become a Behavior Therapist. 20-years later, Unique Pathways was founded.&n

If you’re interested in understanding the non-verbal experience, we recommend watching The Reason I Jump. If you’re looking for a movie that can help your child understand their emotions, many neurodiverse families love Inside Out. Check out our autism-friendly movie guide here.

For both a scientific and personal look at autism, we recommend reading But You Don’t Look Autistic At All by Bianca Toeps. Check out our full book guide for more great reads.

Hero Elementary is great for the young ones. Songs for Littles is excellent for toddlers learning how to talk. And Ranking of Kings is a great option for anime and fantasy fans. See our full list of the best TV shows about autism and inclusion.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy rooted in the science of learning and behavior. Using principles of ABA, children and adults can learn to improve their communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills while also addressing problematic or challenging behaviors. The primary goal of ABA therapy is to teach helpful skills that promote independence and reduce harmful behaviors. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.

It's a big decision to make for your family! Applied behavior analysis (ABA) seeks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. Watch out for ABA providers who look to "cure" autism.

High quality ABA therapy does exist where the goal is not to “fix” children, make them appear “less autistic”, or change who they are. The goal is to help people learn all that they can so they can live to their potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. Here's our complete guide to start and end ABA therapy.
