We are located in Haddam so there are definitely closer options for us . I found Hansoo via google as I was looking for a tae kwon do class for our 4 year old who has autism . We are so grateful for Master Chasse. My son is overwhelmed by large groups so we have him in semi private classes with our two year old and it has been amazing . Any parent of a child who with different needs has likely experienced two sides of a spectrum either somebody just does not have the patience to work with your child or the opposite end they hear they have a diagnosis and dont hold them accountable for anything . Master Chasse meets our children at their level and holds them accountable. He earns their respect by example. He has a self scoring system at the end of the class that I thought would be over my boys heads but after the last class our two year old for the first time got could do better in the area for body control and he was talking about it all evening . He is a very confident child so this correction was very important for him . My other son to the contrary is more critical of himself and has left every class saying Master Chasse said good job . I love how he meets every child at their level . Its an amazing experience and I highly recommend this school

Their customer service was a bit slow. I mean they were helpful when they did get back to me but it took them a day to call me back. To be honest i was frustrated as it was a big purchase and i saw some negative threads in Reddit. Also I had to get an extra person to help with the assembly - not a dealbreaker but something to consider. Overall Id say 90 happy with my Hanso Pergola. The quality of the aluminum is top-notch and its genuinely seems rust-proof. It was a breeze to assemble but took longer than I expected. It was simple but took waaaay longer than i thought. It really tested my ability to follow directions.

Wonderful traditional taekwondo studio. Rates are reasonable for individuals and families. This is not a martial arts studio that offers kids parties as a gimmick but teachers honor respect perseverance and community. Master Chasse is an excellent teacher for students of all ages and offers a wonderful program for students on the autism spectrum.

My son has been going here for almost 4 years and he loves it. Mr. Chasse has an incredible way of getting and keeping the attention of even the most problem children. Hes serious about the art and you can tell that he is in it more for the love of the art than just because its a decent job for him. Also important to me I would not consider this a belt factory like Ive heard of from so many other parents and Ive seen from my sons previous TKD experience. My entire family had since started here and were not disappointed. The fitness and mindfulness you learn here as an adult are just as life-changing as the focus that you students experience.

My daughter started marital arts at another place in town but when it was time for my son to start we shopped around for a better experience. From the first conversation I had with Master Chasse I could tell that he was a professional and passionate about Taekwondo. His pricing is the lowest in town which speaks to the fact that he cares more about the art hes teaching than making a large profit. He teaches the traditions of martial arts in a way that is engaging fun and meaningful. Students learn self-control coordination physical fitness and leadership skills. There are classes six days a week which allows for flexibility with a familys busy schedule. I am continuously impressed with how much his students respect him and how intuitive he is to the individual needs of all of his students. I have been amazed at the progress the ASD students make under his guidance. After observing as a parent in the back of the room for a year and half I finally made the decision to begin training myself. The experience has been much more than I anticipated and I cant say enough good things about Master Chasses character as a person and his skill as an instructor.

The comment posted by everyone appears off mark based on my years of experience and interactions with Hansoo TaekwonDo and Mr. Chasse. The chemistry between teacher and student is critical to the successful training within any martial arts and finding the right school for training is part of the process. I trained for years at Hansoo as did my son and we both achieved black belt over time. We are extremely proud of our training and our experiences working with Mr. Chasse and continue our relationship today outside of training. Many schools are profit driven often the single source of revenue for the ownerteacher. Pressure can build at times when students fail to maintain the funding for their training. However I know from the ten years I have been involved Mr. Chasse has worked with so many families during times of financial difficulties and each familys situation has been handled uniquely based upon their circumstances. Regular commitment to training and attendance is his focus finding ways for students to continue their training at times at any cost.It is widely known that most comments posted on the Internet are negative ones. Hundreds or more satisfied students and families exist who have trained at Hansoo many multi-generational as with my sons and my training. Before relying solely on a negative comment posted anonymously by anyone on the Internet due your own due diligence to find the facts. In the case of Hansoo meet with Mr. Chasse and the families that train at Hansoo. We were never disappointed.
