The Webb School at Cheshire

It provides special education and related services to students in grades K-8. Students who have emotional issues which affect their educational progress, are referred by their local education agency (LEA). Student functioning ranges from slightly impaired to gifted levels. Field trips and visiting programs enhance the established curriculum. Social and behavioral learning continues throughout the day. All students participate in appropriate clinical groups and individual therapy. The school psychiatrist and nurse assist in monitoring students who are on medication or have medical/psychiatric issues. A point/level behavioral system reinforces growth in academics, social interactions, and behavioral problem solving. There is an emphasis on developing interpersonal relationships and problem solving skills. The aim is always to return students to a less restrictive environment when possible.
