The Mental and Social Health Center

The Mental and Social Health Center provides counseling; self-advocacy coaching; social skills training; mindfulness training; and other related services for people with mental health disorders and neurodevelopmental syndromes. We use a combination of brief and in-depth therapeutic approaches; based on what is needed in a given situation. Generally; we start with immediate; practical issues when these are present; and then start discussion of more long range or existential issues once pressing situations are dealt with. We use a variety of counseling approaches; including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT); positive behavioral supports; and skills training. In addition to working with mental health issues traditionally addressed in therapy such as depression and anxiety; we also specialize in working with clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD); learning disabilities; and ADHD.
