The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County

For more than forty-five years, the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County has been helping disadvantaged people improve their lives through equal access to justice. Last year Legal Aid’s staff of twelve attorneys, many of whom are bilingual, provided free civil legal services to over 1,600 people. Clients' Rights Advocate--This project provides advocacy for persons with disabilities. We focus primarily on issues of eligibility, dur process rights, and access to public serivces and benefits. KIC Project--The Kids in Crisis (KIC) Project assists children with disabilities and their families with questions about SSI, the Golden Gate Regional Center, California Children's Services and special education.
