The Forum School

The Forum School is a private, non-profit, school for students with disabilities ages 5- through 21. Most students are placed by their local school district and attend at no cost to parents. Established in 1954, the Forum School is a private, non-profit, school approved by the State of New Jersey to serve students with disabilities ages 5 through 21 years. We offer a therapeutic educational environment for children from New Jersey, as well as Rockland County, and New York City whose educational needs cannot be met in their local district. We use psycho-educational and behavioral techniques, along with a structured, stimulating curriculum appropriate to each student’s level. Classes are small and ungraded. The staff to student ratio of each class is based upon the age and ability levels of the students. The Forum School is in session from September to June and has a state approved Extended School Year (ESY) program in July.
