First of all for non US citizens Conservatory doesnt mean the school offers a high end professional environment. This is more a school for children and beginners. However I took part in the Summer-Jazz course. Beforehand I got in touch with the school explaining my level bachelor degree in jazz and what environment I am looking for. Their answer was This course will suit you perfectly - which wasnt the reality. After the first day I confronted the organiser and asked for a refund which I never got. RCB just be honest with people For me it was a waste of money and time

I didnt want to write this review knowing this place means so much to so many people. But heres the thing their staff doesnt like communicating with people albeit in person or via email i.e increasing tuition without any form of notification. But they will send you infinite amounts of email and snail mail demanding donations or inviting you to buy a ticket to their music festival which we cant afford. Theres always this uncomfortable projection of indifference from their front office. Dont get me started with how ppl were treated during and after COVID. I digress. Its a good place to get your kid started with music but theres no set lesson. Its a very laissez-faire situation and many people want to become serious musicians. This isnt the place for it. We had to withdraw mid-semester because we were very unhappy with everything there. It says in their withdrawal form that they would contact you for feedback and they never did. This is an example of how an institution strives for mediocrity and beyond.

Truly special place for music. Kind and beautiful people staffing here. We had a practice room with a beautiful Steinway piano for 17 hour on a Friday. The school is spotless and has many resources for seeking out chamber music concerts and other avenues that you might need. A Brooklyn treasure.

I absolutely love this place. I had the great pleasure of attending their House Party on Thursday November 4 2021 and it was a vibe. So well organized beautifully produced and filled with incredibly talented musicians all throughout the space. I am so happy that a place like this exists

A true delight to visit the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music either for classes private lessons concerts or to enjoy a relaxing moment in their magnificent garden entry area. During COVID many virtual events are available as well as remote lessons and learning. Music inspires and so does the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and their building is a real gem.

The instructors vary - some are not committed to adult students. Just a feeling. Its like youre damaged goods and not taken seriously.

Its an historical place. It has a strong wood staircase that goes up like 3 flights. It has old pictures of musicians who have probably played there. Cool little place.
