We met with Dr. Hurd for our twin boys. He was easygoing knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Our concerns were addressed I didnt feel rushed and he put our minds at ease. He took his time to explain things and observe our boys. Lastly he let us know about various options for additional care and assistance. The staff was also respectful and prior to the appointment had regular communication with us including reaching out to offer us an earlier appointment time. Being able to submit all the forms in advance sped up the check-in process as well. Overall we had a great experience.

I want to shout out for Dr. Shareef Hes very kind patient and detailed. He answered all our questions and concerns and give us suggestions which are very helpful. After we went back home and checked the notes he left in the portal he basically recorded everything in his notes. Thank you so much Glad my friend recommended me here.

Stay away from this facility and do not use Dr Shaw. Been going there for over 7 years and she did not to help my child. We never saw positive strides and the doctor is completely disconnected and has no idea what she is doing. She will make you come to the office for Dr appts however do not listen to patients concerns have no clue what are symptoms of childrens medical issues and will smile at you in your face take your money and your child will continue to suffer. My child went to a new low and finally had to get away from this facility. Now I have a new Dr. that knows what they are doing and in my child is finally making progress. Buyer beware. They do not know how to treat ADHD.

I have being taking my son to Dr Hurd for several years now. Dr Hurd is very knowledgeable and I can tell by the way he spends time getting to know his patients that he loves helping his patients. I feel very lucky to have found him to treat my son. The staff at Texas Child Neurology have always been very friendly and patient with my son as well. I cant say enough excellent things about Dr Hurd and his staff.

Very disappointing experience with the staff. The receptionist was also not co-operatingThey could not reschedule the appointment because we were late by 15 min and were asked to reschedule the appointment. We drove an hour and waited for about a month and half for the appointment for our 2 year old also had to cancel my elder ones school only to be turned back.Looks like they priorize the money over patients healthWill never visit and definitely not recommend.

I had a great experience with TCN and Dr. Shareef. My children feel comfortable at every appointment. Dr. Shareef is extremely attentive to my concerns and point of view. I very much appreciate how he connects with my son and daughter to truly understand who they are.

Our experience with this office was very disappointing leaving quite the bitter taste in my mouth. First impression money pit with little empathy. We were referred here in early Jan and landed an appointment for the end of March with Dr. Jacob- whom weve never met or engaged with. Our son had been diagnosed with ADHD by his pediatrician but we also needed him to be screened for autism. Our son was having significant behavior challenges at school and it felt like we were hanging on by a thread daily waiting to get in and finally receive the caretreatment we desperately needed. We finally got to the end of March and about 2-3 days prior to the appointment I received a call from the office. It was odd to me because Id never spoken to anyone there before- all communication was done by my husband who made the appointment. The lady informed me that she called my husband dont know of attempts made and wasnt able to reach him to collect a deposit for the visit which was needed to secure our appointment or it would be cancelled. I remember feeling like her tone was curt and very matter-of-fact. Nevertheless My husband called back and paid the 50. His best form of communication is email or text as hes busy leading back to back work meetings most days so providing an option to pay online would have been considerably helpful and most efficient in avoiding that unpleasant encounter.Day of anticipated 200 appointment arrives and we couldnt be happier It was a whole family affair- my husband and I our toddler and our 2.5 month old packed up and jumped in the car. We picked up our son from school and received some feedback that he hadnt had the best day. So that ate a few minutes of our time unexpectedly but no biggie- we were still tracking decent travel time. The real setback occurred when we were delayed in bumper to bumper slowdown traffic caused by an accident on the 2nd freeway of 3 it took to get to the office. We rushed in at 212. We pulled up and walked in at same time as another smaller family. I only mention them because it stuck out to me that besides us based on the number of vehicles in the parking lot and stark emptiness in the waiting room it didnt seem busy enough to justify the almost 3 month wait. We waited a few minutes for the couple ahead to check in. Then we were. Next a lady behind the counter called us back up to say she has to check with the doctor to see if we can still be seen since we were 19 minutes late for a 200 appointment. My husband corrected her about our arrival time to which she then tells us about a firm 10 minute late policy. So we waited 15-20 minutes longer only for her to come back telling us wed need to reschedule and the scheduler would be up shortly to do that with us. My husband promptly told her theyd wasted enough of our time and could call us to reschedule and we left.As we packed our tribe back into the car I asked my husband if this policy was mentioned before now and he said no. We were both incredibly shocked to be turned away so callously- over a few minutes and with an empty office. From what we could see Most of the buildings occupancy was staff.During the drive home I was asking him more questions about the expected visit and learned that we werent even going to be seen by Dr. Jacob for our major concern- which was getting screened for autism. Apparently when my husband initially booked the appointment he thought everything would be handled by the one doctor but later learned that there were other doctors with different specialties and Jacobs was limited. Since we were new patients hed asked to be switched to the autism specialist who could observe and treat both. His requests were denied stating that our child had already been assigned to a physician and they couldnt switch the care provider. My mind was blown on several levels. How can a practice run like this This definitely isnt putting the needs of the patient first. We havent returned. Proceed with caution.

Texas Child Neurology has been amazing for my family. They have doctors that are able to assess test and diagnose children and adolescence. They may be neurodivergent or have extra needs. They also have an amazing staff of nurses and administrators that do a great job of making you feel welcome from the moment you make the first phone call to the moment you have your first appointment they walk you through every step with care. I will continue to see Texas Child Neurology from my childrens needs they are hands-down one of the best doctors and staffs I have had the pleasure to meet.
