Been with Texana since I was 14 Im now 20 For the most part Staff are extremely helpful and informative Lately theyve been understaff so you have to be a bit patient . However overall they do get you the care you need eventually The few things I dont like is when my doctors all recommended me to be on meds and the psychiatrist seemed like he was quick to put me on a medication without looking at my chart or checking with my therapist or case manager and I was pregnant. After he told me what medication he wanted me to be on I told him I had bad reactions to it the last time I had took them and he ignored that and I asked is it say for pregnancy He asked me are you planning on being pregnant because if you are we need to find you something different which worried me because I was clearly pregnant and it says it on my chart .He ended up still prescribing that medicationI had an incident with a case manager Shannon who pulled the wrong chart . Mind you Ive been with Texana for years so Im very familiar with my chart . When she told me I wouldnt be able to get the care I need I asked her why she told me a diagnosis and events that isnt even mines . I only like her because she gave me chocolateLol I heard shes no longer at that location.

They refuse to help me after I have begged my caseworker. Ive been out of meds for almost 2 months and they are the most difficult people to work with. Becareful to not say the wrong things or they will secretly call cops and parade you thru everyone.

My experience comes from years ago. I was a parent who came to Texana for help with my child. My deceased wife used drugs while pregnant and after pregnancy in a capacity that affected one or more people. It caused behavioral health problems for those affected. Everything we owned was getting destroyed by those affected due to maladaptive behaviors stemming from maternal substance use disorder during pregnancy. The mother had overdosed and died. Texana promised to provide pharmacological support. Instead they judged the situation prematurely without having all the facts which we could not even provide at the time. Simultaneously we were also being swatted by those responsible for the mothers substance use disorder and special victimization using false reports to Child Protective Services. I was sick from illness conveyed to me through my spouses abuse and infidelity. Texana did not care about our hardships. Like so many others they pushed the ship down as though to try and sink us with further unfounded reporting. The agency continued to be used to swat us for four years. We lost our house and all the money invested. I lost my life savings and as a family we lost nearly all material possessions. I lost my job and insurance. The family lost their health coverage. I spent years very sick from illness I was infected with as a secondary outcome of my spouses special victim status prior to her death. Texana further aggravated the situation rather than taking time to get all the facts. CPS does not help families. They destroy them. I had to adopt a Constitutional Defense against further harassment. I am a special victim myself many many times over. Texana was one of many parties that worked unwittingly to completely destroy our life. Everything is gone. You did not help at all with the circumstances you are tasked to address through the funding you receive. We have been enduring this situation for six years. We were denied legal aid and lost everything because we could not get support as special victims both adult and minor. How do you justify this Do you think people will tolerate further transgression I can assure you if anyone showed up at my home again without warrant I would stop them. Stop tormenting people who have already endured torture at the hands of criminals in your county. Do your job and listen to victims of crime coming in for support who have behavioral health concerns for themselves and their children. Further harassment or aggression by any party will result in litigation and financial penalty against those responsible.

My experience with Texana has been nothing but wonderful Ikeshia was assigned as the case facilitator and Sarah was my daughters CLS. I adopted a teenager who required a lot of attention. As a single mom it was hard adjusting to the needs of my teen. These two ladies were patient loving and went above and beyond in every aspect. My teen bonded with them and graduated from the program within 2.5 years.

Horrible place. The only good part was getting free medication however if the nurse practitioner doesnt prescribe the right meds and misdiagnoses you - whats the point For months I was diagnosed as something Im not and took medication that made my life a living hell. Im grateful to be in a position where I can afford a private psychiatrist visit every few months now. Getting on the right meds and getting properly diagnosed by a doctor not a nurse practitioner is so important. Another thing is some of the other staff I had to see weekly lacked awareness to what the disorder I was diagnosed with at the time entails and how there can be a whole spectrum of how its different for everybody. I highly advice anyone who can to not go here. If you have to stay at Texana advocate for yourself. If you feel like you arent on the right meds dont let your nurse practitioner keep you on them. Theyre supposed to help you not coerce you in continuing medications that arent working for you.

Felt very invalidated. Also the dr had prescribed me meds I shouldnt of been on because Im anemic and it caused issues until I stopped taking it. I expressed this and he said I was exaggerating and making things up.Thats only one of several issues. I regret ever going to begin with.

I never leave reviews but here goes...I have a hard time opening up to anyone. I was first sent to Texana as a child in 2004 never kept up with it after hospitalization due to my parents lack of knowledge and culture. I turned 18 in 2008 and started going on a regular basis. In over 10 years I still have issues opening up to people but I have to say that Diana Hidalgo quite literally saved my life multiple times in the last 9 years I have known her. She has done everything to get me better and I owe everything that I am and everything that I will be to her.
