Sullivan Center For Children

Went there because i showed symptoms of many disorders. I told my psychiatrist my situation and the only thing he took from it was my depression. So he wrote me a prescription for an anti-depressant and it helped a whole lot. However none of my other problems were ever discussed again. I was told that I would be assigned to a therapist and never was. Maybe this place works for some people but I am currently looking for a new doctor. Hope this helps.

My childs dr called asked if they would take her as she needed to be evaluated for autism they told him yes and to have me call and set up an appointment. I called that same day and the person who answered had a bad attitude was very rude when trying to get an appointment refused to set up an appointment and told me if I want to wait a year that was my only option then said they were not taking new patients even after I said my childs dr called and confirmed they would accept her. The lady continued to be rude and say I was wrong and left it at that. If these are the type of people they have working for them I wouldnt feel comfortable with them working with my child. How can we trust someone like that with our children who have disabilities or mental health issues. Dont recommend

I went here starting at age 11 and was assigned to Dr. David Fox. That man completely ruined my childhood. I was sent to Dr. Fox as a punishment by my mother when I disobeyed her and spoke out about being abused I had also told Dr.Fox on my first visit and I remember my exact words because I wonder what on earth could have lead this man to think I was so depressed that I needed medication. I told him that I was sad because my mother hits me when Im at home but Im happy to be away from her. At 11 that does not mean Im depressed That simply means my mother is hitting me and I dont like it. He prescribed me anti-depressants and never called CPS which I learned later on that hes required to if a child tells him they are being abused. Now keep in mind a side affect of anti-depressant is oh yeah DEPRESSION and it can end horribly if someone who doesnt have depression is prescribed them. Well guess what Im depressed now and knowing what depression is now I know I wasnt depressed back then. The man only listens to what the parents want not what the kids need he never really listened or asked about if something was upsetting me and whenever Id talk about my mother hitting me hed change the subject or tell me that maybe shed get tired of me and hand me over to the state. The anti-depressants he gave me mind you now a days they arent even supposed to be prescribed to kids completely messed with my head and gave me depression. I didnt have depression until coming here so if you want to get you kid healthy send them to a therapist rather than someone who can ruin your kids life.I went on home hospital for THREE YEARS because my mother could easily manipulate the guy into writing the prescription for it when mind you I refused to go when I was around 14-15 when I had realized and started doing research and found out that those anti-depressants were likely the originalstarting cause of my depression and I never went to the man again but my mother did for those prescriptions. I was isolated in a house with a woman who abused me all day every day because of that man. I didnt even take the ACT or SAT because my mother would worry that someone would see that I was perfectly fine to attend school and in honesty I was my senior year was one of the easiest to get through with depression because with its end Id get the hell away from her and the other major cause in my depression. I will never get my teenage years back this center took that away from me and I never want any kid to go through what I did. So please rethink where you send your children.

Have gone here since I was 7. Would recommend.
