I would not recommend this facility. My daughter attended this ABA facility for 2 months and while they advertise weekly parent trainings this is not the case. I did not receive any parent trainings to understand my daughters goals progress or how I can provide consistency at home. I was the one who had to reach out to see when I could have a parent training. I learned that my daughters father was approached for training while at the facility but it was communicated on the intake forms that Mom is the custodial parent and initial POC. Both parents should have been contacted for training but I was not and had to initiate discussion on that topic. I also had to request a tour because I never received one when I registered. After I inquired my daughters father received a tour but when I gave my availability no one replied. Very weird.Every day my child interacted with from 5 to 8 different RBTs in an 8 hour period and she is only 3 attaching photos of daily report showing how many RBTs she had in a day. This did not include the speech therapist that started seeing her there during this time. This is unacceptable and Ive never heard of an ABA facility that has so many people working with children with special needs. A lot of these children have developmental delays and struggle with their attention span. Why complicate things even more with a new face every hourhour and a half Half of the notes on her take home sheets were chicken scratch and very hard to read. No one could provide a full picture of her day when I pick her up from school. And thats because there are so many RBTs working with her and there is clearly no communication. My daughter was at a previous ABA facility where she had 2 RBTs a day. A morning and an evening tech. In the 2 months that my child was at SOS Richmond there was no progress. She spend most of that time trying to acclimate to a constantly changing space. My daughters last day I was scheduled to finally have that parent training however I received a phone call saying that my daughter vomited in her sleep. I asked if she had a fever no one could say because her temperature was not checked. They said that they would check it and called me back. They called back to let me know that my daughters temperature was 93 degrees. This is an abnormal temperature that should be taken seriously. It wasnt. When I arrived at SOS I asked to see the camera footage of when my daughter vomited. In that footage I witnessed an RBT try to wake my daughter up multiple times and she wouldnt budge. He shook her waited shook her again waited. He was visibly concerned and was rubbing his head as he looked down at my daughter laying on the cot. Then all of a sudden you see my daughters body jerking and 2 women run in to hold my daughter up. This happened before they called me and still no one even checked her temperature until I asked. And the BCBA admitted to not looking at the tape before I got there and all she knew was that my daughter threw up on herself. By daughter was very weak when I left with her and could barely walk. This place dropped the ball with my daughter - and afterwards told lies and made excuses about her having a little tummy ache. Low quality care masked by nice pictures and activities. Dont send your child here.

No one can prepare you for whats to come after an autism diagnosis. Leaning into the unknown we starting touring and seeking out ABA therapy schools. SOS is an answered prayer and a great place for our son to embark on his new journey. We have been able to observe our son during sessions and the connection each therapists has with him is beautiful to see. Everyone apart of SOS is super helpful Working with autistic children is a special kind of work and every time I walk into SOS I can feel the heart each therapist has for our children. Since weve starting attending SOS the office and classrooms have had many new upgrades. Im loving it Thank you to SOS for giving this mom peace of heart knowing her child is learning in a safe fun and loving environment.

This center is amazing. I went in for a tour and it was so clean all of the therapist had smiles and the environment was very positive. All of the children looked happy and seemed like they were getting quality therapy. This is definitely a place your child should be. Keep up the good work Success on The Spectrum Richmond

Very weird interview with 3 people two who never spoke who just looked at me the whole time while I am being interviewed by someone on zoom who I never seen while her child was crying as she is asking questions regarding a position unprofessional and the questions where horrible the interviewer seem distracted with whatever was going on at home overall as far as becoming an employee I realized the moment I got into the interview room this job was not for me I did give a star to the receptionist and the black lady with the beautiful personality
