I brought my daughter to see Alison because at almost 7 years old we noticed that her letter Rs still sounded like Ws and it was not improving on its own. Alison performed a diagnosis and was able to determine that my daughter had a severe tongue tie that was impacting her tongues range of motion. She came up with a treatment plan that would teach her how to use her tongue and also included tongue tie release surgery. Keep in mind that this is not a short process. I originally guessed that it would be but I was very mistaken. My daughter had to learn how to improve her tongues range of motion which took months get the surgery then relearn how to speak with the new range of motion. The treatment plan required a lot of time and patience practicing with my daughter every week.My daughter finally completed the program and her Rs sound perfect All in it took a little over a year. Im glad we found Alison because she is a true expert with speech pathology and wont waste your time. Shes super friendly and the program is fun for the kids.If your kid is having speech issues I would highly recommend giving Alison a call. Youll be glad you did.

My son was barely speaking complete sentences when I first contacted Alison for advice and consultation following his sensory processing disorder diagnosis at age 5. Now at age 9 he has made leaps and bounds in both articulation and expressive language. Her vast knowledge concerning the spectrum of disorders and delays and how each one relates to language and speech was critical in establishing specific techniques and tools that perfectly matched his needs. Bonus points he found them engaging and fun In addition to early intervention advice and support Alison has been instrumental in the development and maintenance of our sons IEP at school. Her expertise in the rights and protections of special needs children in the classroom is an asset to any parent navigating the journey to help our children be the best they can be.
