Best therapeutic horseback riding venue My daughter has been 15 years and enjoys it immensely. Betty and crew are very personable and care about the horses and the riders.

A horror show for our poor horse We had him for 15 years. He was there for 7 days came home all gashed up. No one called a vet no one called us we took him back after a surprise visit and found him in the most deplorable condition. We were lied to. We brought them a perfectly good mild mannered quarter horse and we had to rescue him from that toilet. We just spent 200 in vet bills and were going to have to irrigate his wounds for 10 days and have him on antibiotics. When we got to him there was no vet and there did not seem like there was any intention of calling one. They told us told the injury just happened our vet told us the wound was 4 days old so it could not be stitched. We were adamant about our requirements before he would be donated He was not to be alone he was to be in a grass pasture and he was only to be ridden with his 2000 custom saddle. When we showed up unannounced he was in a dirt paddock alone pacing and distressed. It was not until we got up close that we saw the horrific wounds. We were then told that he was going to be moved to Hillcrest. I asked what the hell was Hillcrest and we were told a nice place in Ocala on 5 acres with a 10 stall barn Do the math We never agreed for him to be moved anywhere. They just tell one lie after another. We were told that he didnt get along with the other horses. In the 15 years weve had him this has never been an issue and we ran a boarding facility for 7 years. In my opinion this place is nothing more than a 501-3c non-profit scam. Make up a charity then write off land home horses and farm expenses.

What Stirrups and Strides did to my donated horse was nothing short of criminal. Within 1 week my horse was battered badly by other horses. Apparently the owner and staff of this Therapeutic Riding Center 501-C did not have the expertise to know when to call a veterinarian for urgent needed care.My horse was severely bitten up by other horses and somehow was impaled per my vet by an unknown object 4 into his back penetrating not only skin but inches of muscle. It appears he was thrown into a pasture with other horses and not monitored to verify that the horses would be suitable. Based on the number of bites this occurred over a sustained period. His injures should have been treated by a veterinarian immediately Per my vet the injuries sustained occurred at minimum of 36 hrs likely more prior to me removing my horse and beginning immediate vet care.My husband and I went out to check on him 7 days post donating him. We found him in severe distress in a dirt paddock no shade and clearly in pain.We immediately removed him from the premise and obtained vet care. Several hundreds of dollars later and almost round the clock wound care we hope he will return to the mild mannered healthy horse we donated.I am beyond disgusted and disturbed over the lack of knowledge and skill of this facility. Beware do not ever donate an animal to this facility. Their inhumane treatment and lack of compassion is beyond belief. As an FYI I have been in the horse industry most of my life showing training and owning a successful boarding facility. Im no novice in this industry not a disgruntled donator who changed her mind in donating her horse.Im knowledgeable and compassionate. Its distressing that this facility cannot understand equine health and care.
