    Founding Story

How Bite-Sized Beginnings Came to Life

Bite-Sized Beginnings was born from a single, unshakable belief: every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and celebrated exactly as they are—especially when communication or mealtimes feel hard.

After more than a decade working as a speech-language pathologist in hospitals, private practices, and university settings, I saw a gap: families were overwhelmed, cookie-cutter therapy was everywhere, and neurodivergent children were being pushed to fit in, not understood.

I knew I could do better.

So I started Bite-Sized Beginnings—a private practice designed to be everything I wished existed for families and clinicians alike: playful but expert, affirming but practical, modern but deeply human. What began with a few local clients quickly grew into a trusted space for toddlers, neurodivergent children, and their caregivers to explore language, feeding, and regulation through connection-first care.

Today, we specialize in speech and feeding therapy for toddlers and young children with:

    • Autism (including PDA profiles)
    • ADHD
    • Gestalt language processing (echolalia)
    • Pediatric feeding and swallowing (dysphagia) challenges (including ARFID and sensory-based aversion)

We don’t just treat “delays” or “disorders”—we build trust. We follow your child’s lead. We empower families. And we make real-life communication and mealtime support bite-sized, doable, and deeply meaningful.

This isn’t just a practice. It’s a movement—toward joy, autonomy, and truly affirming care.

    With gratitude and fierce heart,

    Stephanie Mulholland, M.S., CCC-SLP
