It’s how well you connect with the aspirations of people with disabilities and their families, communicating self determined and actionable special needs strategies back to them through the coordination of government benefits, social services, financial planning and personal responsibility.;In addition, Stuart is the president of Stuart Flaum Consulting LLC, a benefits advisory firm for people with disabilities and their families. Stuart is a New York State Housing Navigator and is trained as a Social Security Work Incentives Planning and Benefits Practitioner.;Stuart serves on the New York State Developmental Disabilities Council, a government agency that addresses the needs of people with developmental disabilities. In addition, Stuart is an advisory board member on Supported Decision-Making New York. Stuart has served on various boards, including treasurer Parent to Parent of New York State, secretary National Autism Association Metro NY and on the Advisory Committee Devereux Glenholme School in Washington, Connecticut.;Stuart holds a BA from Hobart College and received a Chartered Special Needs Consultant from the American College. Stuart is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners.;Stuart lives in Brooklyn with his wife Candia, a real estate broker who has dedicated part of her practice to housing strategies for special needs families in NYC.
