Sheryl Knapp, M.Ed., A/AOGPE

Literacy Learning & Assessment Center of Connecticut Founder Sheryl Knapp, M.Ed., C/OGA, CDT, frequently writes and presents on topics relating to literacy and learning disabilities. She completed hundreds of classroom and practicum hours under the supervision of a Fellow of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA), earning her Associate level Certification with the Academy in 2010, and Certified level in 2018. Orton-Gillingham is a systematic, sequential, evidence-based, multisensory approach to literacy instruction which has been proven to be effective for struggling readers with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Sheryl currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Chapter of The Reading League, and is the former President and long-time Board Member of the Dyslexia Society of Connecticut, as well as a Board Member of the former Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress (currently the Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut (DS-ACT). She is also a contributing writer and editor for Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities.
