Very disappointed with Regional Center theyre racist heartless they can care less about kids and adults with special needs. They denied services all time and only help whoever they want to help. Its a pain having to deal with people like that I wonder why they get hired...

Have had to take this Regional Center to several Administrative Law Hearings to get needed services for my son with severe autism. Some executive staff play dirty when parents request services. Or after they lose a case. For example you may suddenly find your childs respite workers are being asked for unnecessary paperwork or falsely accused of not sending in paperwork that theyve already sent in. The Regional Center has in house attorneys they use to fight against parents at the Administrative Law Hearings. They also use outside Law Firms to help oppose parents requesting services. Its a hostile setting and really unfair to parents who dont have the ability to fight back without an attorney or on their own. Still more upper management staff often uses Service Coordinators and Program Managers to sign and send letters--actually written by Legal staff-- to parents. This can be very deceptive and misleading to parents. Extremely difficult to get straight answers from many upper case management and legal in this Regional Center. Can create major gaps in communication. Lack of communication and poor case management causes confusion and unnecessary delays in service and support requests. Sad considering this is an agency controlling millions of dollars for people with developmentally disabilities in San Diego County. This Regional Center spends a lot of money on lawyers to fight parents asking for services for their children with autism and other developmental disabilities. On a positive note there are some really kind caring Service Coordinators Program Managers and others who work here. They arent usually involved or assist in the upper case management bullying of parents.

Fantastic place to work. I worked there for a temp position and wasnt called on full-time but what a pleasant experience. Quiet clean and average knowledge of staff intelligence.

A noble organization doing its best to most effectively coordinate services to people with developmental disabilities within the constraints of limited funding and state and federal regulations.
