Introduction
Hi! I’m Samantha, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and founder of Desert to Summit Speech Therapy. I’m passionate about helping people communicate more confidently and feel empowered in their everyday lives. I’ve worked across medical settings, including inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care, supporting adults with speech, language, cognitive, voice, swallowing, and neurorehabilitation needs. I’ve also worked in the school setting with students from elementary through high school, helping them build communication and academic language skills.
I believe meaningful progress is founded on genuine connection, so my approach is personalized, evidence-based, and functional to real life. Outside of therapy, you can usually find me reading or knitting at the park, throwing on the pottery wheel, or spending time with loved ones.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Compassionate
Creative
Curious
I chose compassionate, creative, and curious because they shape how I show up both personally and professionally. Compassion guides my commitment to truly listening and meeting clients where they are. Creativity allows me to design therapy that feels engaging, functional, and individualized to each person’s life. Curiosity drives my passion for lifelong learning—whether that’s exploring new evidence-based practices or understanding each client’s unique story. Together, these qualities help me build meaningful relationships and create therapy experiences that foster confidence, growth, and lasting progress.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing needs, particularly those navigating neurological injury or illness. Much of my experience is in neurorehabilitation across medical settings, including inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, and memory care. I also support school-age students in building academic language and functional communication skills. I’m especially passionate about working with clients transitioning home after discharge, providing personalized, functional therapy that bridges the gap between clinical care and everyday life.
