August was ending all my friends were awaiting the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Back to school shopping getting my new class schedule and stressing about said classes should be the only pressure lingering in my mind. Instead here I was in the eating disorder unit of Torrance Memorial Hospital. Two weeks later I complete the refeeding program and was discharged from the hospital. Looking for further support me and my family found ROWI. I believe ROWI got me back on my feet. With my individual therapist I learned vital thinking patterns to help me fight the mental disorder that is anorexia. When I was not in session I would spend time in group therapy sessions that improved my point of view on harmful ideologies I set for myself. All of the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. ROWI did a phenomenal job at attending to the meal plan and medication I was put on since discharging from the hospital. The entire milieu eats lunchsnack together and I always found that helpful in ways of relearning what a healthy relationship with food is. At the end of October I made my return to school and things have been looking up ever since. I learned the smallest version of myself isnt the best version of myself I learned I am worth more than the size of my body I learned food isnt the enemy I learned to play on the team that wants the best for me. Thank you ROWI.
