Not everything is for everyone. It would be great if we lived in a perfect world but we dont. Ive been in counseling before ... With Private Practices as well as Group Practices. I never stayed at any of them clearly. Ive been with Riverbend on Loudon Rd now for several months. My therapist is amazing. Very very genuine caring respectful nonjudgmental accommodating and so much more. This person helped take me out of the emotionally cripplingly world Id been living in for 49 years. So for me my experience has been amazing

There is a staff member named Melanie who should be fired or given an extreme amount of training. The sad part is she is a manager there. When speaking with her about forms that would need to be filled out to get my brother a mental evaluation done she spoke to me unprofessionally and inappropriately. Giving opinions and judgment towards my brother. Her attitude towards my brother and myself was completely unprofessional and I hope she thinks twice next time when working with someone trying to get a loved one help versus thinking of them as trash thats not worth your time. I could even hear herself and another coworker SNICKERING laughing quietly while I was clearly upset and hurt by the way I was being treated. She had a complete disregard for me who does not have a mental health issue... I can not imagine how she treats people who do...

This place has a monopoly funded by the state. There are some people who care. Most folks just dont care if a patient lives or dies. Their function is to do as little as possible to avoide actual providing care. Very dishonest and mostly incompetent. I feel for the patients who have no choice.

Ive been searching for an IOP program for mental health and was refereed to Riverbend by 211. When I called i was transferred to Riverbend Choices - who told me in a confused tone that they only have an IOP program for substance abuse. I was then transferred to someone else who was also confused on what I was looking for and why I had been transferred there. I was transferred back to the admin office where I spoke to the first girl I spoke to. She then told me that it seemed like Riverbend did not have an IOP program specifically for mental health and to call somewhere else.211 get it together.Riverbend train your staff on what you provide.

Judgmental and unwilling to actually listen. Not helpful in any capacity.

I contacted Riverbend hoping to schedule an appointment and learn about the process as this is my first time looking to get into therapy. I left a message after calling multiple times and not reaching someone directly. Someone contacted me the following day. After returning their call I was almost immediately put off by who I spoke to regarding the adult services. I was cut off while speaking and the first thing out of her mouth was were booking at least 3 months out and it will be by zoom. I started to ask if they know of anywhere not zoom and before finishing that sentence was cut off again by her response of thats how it is everywhere and youre not going to find anywhere not doing zoom. I ended up responding with never mind and ended the call. Reaching out can be really hard already and when the person makes you feel like a burden annoyed to be on the phone it is very discouraging.

If I could give a NEGATIVE TEN I would I think Governor Sununu should get involved with the mental health system and do something in New Hampshire. Riverbend is the only place every one refers you to and they are NOT interested in actually helping patients. If you have an emergency they DO NOTHING. They confirm appointments the day before and then cancel them without every telling you not just once or twice several times in only a few months They treat each and every patient like the are druggies they dont listen to patients and never actually treat ANYONE. Literally the WORST case scenario for anyone who might be suicidal because they would rather see you jump off a cliff or put a bullet in your head than help you. It is time they start actually looking at the SCIENCE behind someone problems and do some blood and urine work to see if there are hormonal deficiencies and stop trying to throw SSRI and other mind numbing drugs at people without actually looking into the chemical and physical reason their symptoms or illness. There are simple blood and urine tests that can pinpoint why things are off and NO ONE does them. The entire metal health system in New Hampshire is a nightmare Watch the documentary GOD KNOWS WHERE I AM. Furthermore ADHD is a very common cause of anxiety and depression that they REFUSE to acknowledge. The person in charge of my kids case was more concerned about her own ego than actually helping my child. Not a good attitude when you are SUPPOSED to be helping people. Your oath is TO DO NO HARM and yet...thats all you do.

I lost my insurance because Riverbend failed to send paperwork to the state when requested. I attempted to address this twice with my case manager and once with their benefits coordinator and received no help. received a bill and when I asked about it was told there was an issue with their billing system. Trusting my case manager like an idiot I went to several more appointments at her insistence. I received another bill two months later and when I asked about it was told their billing system was having issues.Well it must be working now because Im told the 1500 bill I received is accurate because I didnt have insurance at the time. Insurance I lost because of their incompetence and tried to get back.Riverbend is a great place to go if you want a bunch of incompetent morons to screw you over. Otherwise steer clear.

I went to counseling once. I set up second appointment which when I showed up had been cancelled without them calling me.Then I got a bill for 245. I was told it was 25 copay each visit insurance covers the rest. I called and they informed me of the error. Today I got a bill for 300...Ive called on numerous occasions to set up another appointment and I never get a call back.Very disappointing experience.

The admin staff is not trained effectively. Communication is poor and the admissions staff was defensive about the fact that I had to call back twice due to miscommunication. The second time I actually went to a scheduled appointment at the address listed on the website--also where I had received counseling earlier this year--only to find out they had moved. When I called admissions their reaction was to blame me for not knowing their location had changed. While the responsibility for effective communication of major changes like that falls on the business more than its customers I dont really care whos at fault. I just needed help. Instead I got humiliation and blame. Customer service always requires patience and good social skills but that is especially true of a place thats specifically dealing with people whose mental health is already poor.
