Resounding Joy

Resounding Joy is a California-based nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through the healing power of music. Through compassionate, trauma-informed music therapy and therapeutic music programs, we bring comfort, connection, and hope to individuals and families across San Diego — offering services at little to no cost thanks to the generosity of our donors, sponsors, foundations, and grant partners.

Our credentialed, board-certified music therapists (MT-BC) use evidence-based interventions to help clients reach meaningful social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and mental health goals.

We serve individuals across the lifespan — from premature infants in neonatal intensive care to older adults and those receiving end-of-life care — supporting people through some of life’s most vulnerable and challenging moments. While our primary focus is serving communities throughout San Diego County, we also engage in select partnerships beyond California — including veteran-focused services in Massachusetts and individualized services in Indiana.

Alongside our clinical team, trained musicians and dedicated volunteers help extend the reach of our programs under professional supervision, ensuring more people can experience the healing power of music.

We are also proud to offer a university-affiliated internship for aspiring music therapists who have completed their undergraduate training, helping cultivate the next generation of compassionate professionals.
