Introduction

Hi, I’m Rebecca, a bilingual pediatric speech-language pathologist serving children ages 18 months to 10 years in the South Bay Beach Cities area. My therapy approach is child-led, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming, with a strong focus on early intervention, gestalt language processing, and AAC for minimally speaking children. I’m passionate about making language accessible and empowering families with practical, meaningful strategies they can use every day. Families often describe me as empathetic, passionate, and funny. When I’m not in sessions, you can usually find me wrestling with my two boys or getting lost in a good book.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Passionate
Empathetic
Funny
The three words I’d use to describe myself are passionate, empathetic, and playful. I’m deeply passionate about supporting children in ways that honor who they are and how they communicate, especially through early intervention and AAC. Empathy guides everything I do—I take the time to truly listen to children and families and meet them where they are. And while I take my work seriously, I believe therapy should be fun. Playfulness and humor help build trust, connection, and joy, which are essential ingredients for meaningful communication and learning.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I’m best positioned to serve young children ages 18 months to 10 years, particularly those who benefit from early intervention, bilingual support, AAC, or a neurodiversity-affirming approach. I work especially well with minimally speaking children and families who value collaboration, child-led therapy, and learning how to support communication at home. I may not be the best fit for families seeking a drill-based or compliance-focused therapy style, or for older adolescents with needs outside my pediatric focus. My goal is always to ensure families find the right support for their child.
