This place is disgusting I was a CIT many counsellors would leave the kids with the CITs they arent supposed to do this because the CITs are 12. The management of the neurotypical children is awful one of the autistic young adults punched one of the five year old kids I was taking care of it was not his fault but the staff. When another CIT and I tried to report it we were scolded for telling rumours and told to keep quiet . The owner of this camp called me into his office about me wearing an earbud in a CIT meeting and telling one of my friends another CIT movies she should be allowed to watch pg movies and telling my mother about everything. I was berated told I could never get a job that my attitude was childish and if his daughter acted the way I did she would be punished. I loved the children and Its not most of the staffs fault its Mike Kunins none of the staff are trained or told how to deal with anything they are left in the dark to deal with 20 kids alone the autistic children often run away and are dealt with badly. Do not send your child here

No discipline for both typical and autistic campers. The amount of times Ive been punched and bit and nothing has happened Do not send your kids here this place needs better management. Dont get me started on the hours waking up at 7 some duties go until midnight. It isnt worth it. It isnt rewarding. So many of the staff have quit because of the abhorrent conditions.

Ramapo is a terrible place to send your kids. I would only give it 0 stars if I could. I had heard so many wonderful things about Ramapo and I sent my son there in 2013. The following year he said he did not want to go. It took him 9 years to finally tell me why. The pressure placed on him to keep quiet was such that he kept everything inside for 9 years until he exploded. He experienced abuse and was constantly bullied and beaten in his bunker and the counselors did nothing. When he was telling me everything that happened to him at Ramapo he was in tears. I recall now seeing those daily pictures they send of your child and I never saw him smile in any of them. Sending my child to Ramapo was the worst thing I could have done to him. I hope that one hell be able to recover from the abuse.

I had such a fun time here. We did many outdoor activities and had many new experiences. Its a great place to take your kids to spend some time with nature once in a while.

During my time there Abuse and neglect were the norm...Counselors looked the other way while autistics bullied autistics and management tried to sweep all problems under the rug. I was attacked several times in my own cabin and instead of receiving help from the staff I was pressured to keep quiet or there would be consequences....This was a very traumatizing place to spend a summer...If you love your kids try to start with the neighborhood and something local dont put them in this dangerous environment...they will suffer severe trauma its amazing nobodys died or been killed...yet.

Ill preference this by saying its been a while since Ive gone here few years. This was the site in a peer education program i worked in where we would take pur young people for a weekend to do the building exercises. Loved the facilities and the staff there were really good. Camp food...is camp food. The bagels we used to get on the last day though were a blast. Cabins were nice. All in all a good camp to use for a program retreat of all ages. Would definitely go back there again...

Super fun and great vibe. Theres no signal so youre just isolated into your environment which adds to the fun. I went with my college group and the staffers there were really amazing
