My family has not been to Raleigh Therapy Services since early 2023. We severed our relationship with them because they billed us for services that our family did not receive. Their reaction felt very fraud-like. We sent a formal complaint to the county.To this day every month they send me another bill for services rendered a year ago. I just got another one this week February 2024 for services allegedly rendered in March 2023.Raleigh Therapy Services has horrendous billing practices. I have never witnessed this type of behavior ever. Delaying billing for nearly an entire year is ridiculous. Every single time I pay it says my balance is zero and every month I receive another 100 bill. Avoid this practice at all costs.

Kaitlyn has become a part of our family. We first hired Kaitlyn to help us with our daughter who had feeding issues. Kaitlyn not only coached our nearly one year old daughter to slowly begin to enjoy food and sustain herself but also was a counselor to us. She helped us take the difficulties we were having in stride and provided assurance and comfort for her continued growth.We hired Kaitlyn a second time with our son who has a speech delay. She has been incredibly responsive an amazing communicator and the favorite part of our sons day whenever he sees her.Most notably Kaitlyn has served in a role that is far beyond what a traditional speech therapist should be expected to do. She communicates with us via text helps our son get comfortable in his preschool classroom stays late after appointments brings both of our children gifts and is truly invested in their overall well-being - not just their current speech issues.Kaitlyn has gone so above-and-beyond her normal responsibilities to care for our children that we often refer to her as a third parent. Having our children cared for by her is the best blessing you can have as a parent - having others see your children the same way you do. She continues to be a source of encouragement for us and our children and if you read some of the other reviews we arent alone. This level of tailored attention and love that she provides our children is standard for Kaitlyn.Even our preschool teachers have remarked that Kaitlyn is the best speech therapist theyve ever seen. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and will always be thankful for how she has helped our kids.

We were referred to Raleigh Therapy Services by our 3 year old daughters pediatrician as we were dealing with severe picky eating to the point where it was affecting her weight gain. We have been seeing Allie for several weeks now and have already seen tremendous improvement. While we still have a lot of work to do we have been able to improve our daughters eating using techniques that we learned from Allie. She is so friendly patient and kind and our daughter looks forward to her visit with her every week.

Kaitlyn was our feeding therapist and it was life changing She is absolutely amazing and helped my little girl so much. Now I can confidently feed her without having to worry for her safety. We have worked with them for over two years with two of our children. We started therapies with different clinicstherapists and transitioned to RTS when we werent seeing progress. The therapists at RTS are phenomenal and feel so lucky to have found them Kaitlyn speechfeeding is the one of the MAIN reasons our daughter is currently thriving She has helped our family navigate our daughters medical issues with ease and provided so many knowledgeable recommendations and guidance. Sarah speech is exceptional and connected with our son in such a precious way She worked with him for a while and he is a talking tornado with no end in sight. Annette PT is absolutely precious with our kids. She is able to think outside of the box and find creative ways to get them to participate in therapy when they arent having it. You can tell how much she enjoys her career with how she interacts with our kids and the education she is able to provide us to help them everyday. They have been a blessing to our family.

We love Raleigh Therapy Services It has truly been a great expirence for my daughter. She was recommended to attend by her pediatrician to work on her speech. Mrs. Erin Bane was our speech therapist and she is absolutely amazing with kids From our first evaluation I noticed Erin would take her time to observe my daughter and focus on what she truly needed help with. My daughter has grown her vocabulary so much Lisa Dixon is also a great staff memeber we met and she was great at answering questions regarding payments. Highly recommend RTS

We have been using Raleigh Therapy Services for 5 years going on 6 and their therapists have been some of the nicest caring and compassionate people we have worked with. Kaitlyn one of their speech therapists has worked with both of my kiddos since the very beginning and she has done such a wonderful job My son has come a long way from speaking absolutely nothing to making letter sounds and saying words correctly. Annette one of their physical therapists has worked hard with my daughter helping her with coordination and balance. My daughter can now maneuver going up and down stairs one foot at a time without holding on to the railing safely and she can run more than 3-4 steps without falling now. We have also had the pleasure of working with Renee Colleen and most recently Maddy some of their occupational therapists all such wonderful ladies helping my kids with their sensory processing food diversions and vestibular and proprioceptive input that they seek. We are also working on tying shoes and hand writing since my daughter broke her arm last year. All these ladies have done such a wonderful job with my kids and I highly recommend this office to anyone seeking services for their kiddos.

We have been working with Sarah for almost 2 years and couldnt be happier She has gone above and beyond to help our child and make sure she is comfortable. She has changed approaches if she found one way wasnt working. She has been flexible when we were running slightly late or when we had to reschedule due to illness. It honestly feels like Sarah is a part of our family now I highly recommend Raleigh Therapy Services. I would suggest to give them a try and see if you can find a good fit. And while Ive only worked with Sarah Copley I wouldnt want anyone else for speech therapy And once my child graduates Im going to see if Sarah can continue working with her to teach her Spanish

Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
responding to questions
starting or ending conversation
changing conversation topics
using gestures like pointing
understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.

The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
Noticing and understanding body language
Feeding and swallowing
Stuttering
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
