My son is having the best experience of his life. Hes learning new skills not only work related but life related. When your child cant get hired for a job due to lack of experience then this program will help. Having an intellectual disability is hard enough. The mentorship has been awesome and the employees at the hospital have been very instrumental in assisting with job training and treating my son like a fellow employee. I will always be a big supporter of this program. These kids need the opportunity to shine.

My son is a high functioning autistic and I enrolled him in a local Project Search PS in New Jersey. Not only was it a waste of a year but a horrible experience. The PS mentors were nagging authoritative and one even grabbed my son by the wrist. I wrote a letter to the national leadership and received no help in addressing the issues. The national leaders maintain no control no levels of standards and no monitoring of local sites that use the PS name. This program may work for your child but it was clear to me that there is no overall quality management of the program among local sites. If the program works for you then you are fortunate. This program did not work for us.

Project SEARCH is the gold standard in school-to-work transition programs. From the moment I first heard of it I knew it was unique and addressed a few challenges- with students with developmental disabilities fully embedded in a large business hospital or otherwise together with a teacher and Skills Trainers the young person really has to take their high school hat off and take on the persona of a professional just as any other intern would be expected to do. As such they learn not solely hard skills but essential soft skills that will serve them well on their employment journey.- The large business or site host has an outstanding opportunity to embark on a journey to see where people with developmental disabilites could be good fits as employees. It can be embraced as a recruitment strategy and it can expand the points of reference for co-workers supervisors managers directors and departments to capabilities and hiring possibilities they would not have otherwise been privy to.Finally it has a constant-quality-improvement perspective always seeking better ways forward for interns and team members. Thank you Project SEARCH

Not a good program for a high functional individual. My son received no support what so ever. If you dont want your individual to be housed like cattle given mediocre treatment dont send them here Mr. Bernstein is very unprofessional period
