Programs Employing People

PEP’s programs include,Employment Services. Our Community Integrated Employment Services matches reliable, well-trained workers from PEP with employers in the community, while our production work center provides paid assembly-line work.,Adult Day Training. Our planned activities and supportive staff provide people who have more severe challenges with daily social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities to enhance their mental development and normal social interaction. This program also includes services to seniors with disability.,In-Home and Community Habiliation. Individualized care provided to consumers for a few hours or longer on an as needed basis or as regular care service. Programming is focused on goal achievement and allows for family/caregiver respite so that they can work, run errands, or attend to personal appointments.,Adult Literacy and Basic Education. Consumers are provided instruction in practical academic skills and life skills geared toward finding and maintaining jobs. For community members with low literacy skills and no high school diploma, PEP provides intensive literacy instruction in preparation for the GED tests.,Arts for Socialization. Once a week, consumers and community members create new creative art projects including making masks, painting flowerpots and crafting hand-made beads. These activities improve hand/eye coordination, reinforce motor skills, and allow for cooperative work.,Garden Programs. Using PEP’s garden as a classroom PEP consumers and the community can enjoy nature education classes with hands-on gardening activities.,Camp PEP. Our founding program is a traditional summer day camp tailored to specific education and recreation needs of children, youth, and adults with intellectual disabilities.
