Introduction
My name is Jennifer and I am a pediatric SLP and owner of Playing Our Part Speech Therapy based in Yucaipa, CA. Playing Our Part Speech Therapy serves children ages 1–17. Our approach is play-based, strengths-focused, child-centered, and individualized to each child's needs. Our areas of expertise include:

We are passionate about empowering families, making therapy fun and meaningful, helping little ones develop their first words and early communication skills, and helping older children refine their speech and communication skills.
We work best with families who are open to being involved in the therapy process and willing to practice or apply strategies outside of therapy sessions so that skills can carry over into everyday life. Our therapists are not as well-positioned to serve children whose primary needs involve significant behavioral challenges, such as self-injury or behaviors that involve harm to others, or families who are looking for a therapy model with little or no caregiver involvement.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family and husky-chihuahua dog we rescued from Yucaipa Animal Placement Society (YAPS). We recently welcomed our son in the Spring of 2026. Baby snuggles, story time, and strolls around the neighborhood have been a new part of my home routine. I also love playing tennis, knitting, quilting, baking, and gardening.

Empathetic: I want families to feel heard and understood. I try to meet each child where they are while recognizing that every child and family has different needs and experiences.
Playful: I genuinely believe therapy should be fun. I use play to build connection, motivation, and meaningful opportunities for children to practice communication skills.
Attentive: I pay close attention to the little things: how a child communicates, what motivates them, what is working, and what may need to be adjusted. I want families to feel that I truly know and understand their child, not that I am simply following a plan.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to serve children ages 1–17 with speech and language needs, especially those with speech sound disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, early language delays, and AAC needs. I enjoy working with children at different stages of communication, from little ones developing their first words to older children working on clearer, more effective communication. I work best with families who want to be involved in the therapy process and are willing to carry strategies into everyday life. I use a play-based, child-centered approach that makes therapy meaningful, engaging, and individualized.
