My son and I had flu-like symptoms so I made an appointment to see a doctor at Physicians Immediate Care. LOVED it. They were so kind and helpful. The nurse was amazing and the PA was great as well. They treated us with kindness and went above and beyond to provide great care. Im so thankful that we found this place

Came here for a scheduled and confirmed urine drug screen. Waited for a long time just to learn that this location cannot do the test that I am required and was told to another location mile and a half away. Extremely slow and disorganized place. Employees seem to not care and are a bit incompetent.

Saw a doctor there on April 18th for my thumb injury. She poked the hole in my nail to get the blood out for like one minute and then put a bandaid over it. She didnt continue to press down to release all of the blood or even wait to see if it continues to bleed or not. I had to go to the emergency room on April 19th to have my nail removed because my thumb was two times its size and blood continued to build behind my nail due to a cut behind the new and an infection. I feel like my whole service at this urgent care location was rushed from the beginning. If I havent went to the ER I would have lost my thumb

The doc was great. The receptionist was very unfriendly and had zero compassion about my condition. They also overcharged me even though my copay is stated clearly on my insurance card. Now I have to jump through hoops to get my money back which from the time of service to actual reimbursement will take over a month. Make sure to talk to the person at the reception and point out your copay amounts on your insurance card because it seems like they charge whatever they please and round up leaving you to deal with the refunds etc. later.UPDATE its been well over a month and I still didnt get my money back. Its ridiculous

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I came to this location twice and each time I received no service. The front desk staff did everything in their power to discourage me from waiting to be seen. I went in today to be seen along with my child. There was absolutely no other patients there waiting and I was told there would be in hour wait in between the two of us being seen. That is absolutely ridiculous

I appreciated the friendliness and the assistance that I received from the front desk receptionist in helping me to register for my appointment. I appreciated the cleanliness of the facility and the snacks that were provided free of charge. The medical assistant was very polite and professional along with the Doctor that gave me my examination. I was even got out in a timely manner which was very necessary for me on that day. Thank you for the opportunity to express my gratitude. Have a Great Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
