After I made an appointment and pre-registered the day before they told me that my active insured was inactive they wouldnt do anything to check on it told me I had to take care of it myself and completely passed my appointment by while they made me handle it. The doctors and nurses are great but the rudeness of the desk staff was enough to never make me want to come here again

We visited the six corners location on 120823 for my daughters wrist injury.I have a strong ER background and I am in Health Care Leadership which gives me insight on how reviews work. The whole team is impacted by a positive or negative review not just one individual. Therefore this review is based on an overall positive experience.PROs-Wait time was just under 1 hour.-TRIAGE tech was courteous professional and honest in regards to a wait time for Radiology tech to arrive. He even offered to put a movie on while we waited.-Radiology Tech arrived in under 30min. She was both courteous and professional. She apologized for the wait time we experienced until she arrived. She did an exceptional job at positioning during imaging allowing Radiologist clear views of areas of concern.-PA Jessica B was very thorough in her assessment of my daughter courteous and professional during interaction and when providing education related to my daughters injury and aftercare.CON-Front desk staff has room for growth in regards to professional interaction and empathy with patients and family members.

I had a sinus infection and went to the Immediate Care on Cicero because I knew I wouldnt be able to see my doctor the same day. I was very impressed with how quickly I was able to register and and I only to wait 10 min before I was called in. The PA was great and very thorough. I was able to get an antibiotic that I desperately needed and went on my merry way. Everyone there is friendly and I would definitely go back when Im not able to see my own doctor on such short notice.

Writing this as I sit in the lobby 50 minutes past my scheduled appointment time that they really want you to arrive 15 minutes for. This place is okay maybe even fine but be prepared to spend at least two hours here irrespective of how busy it looks the time of day or how quickly they get you into a room. The providers are fine and theyre less aggressive than they used to be about taking unnecessary X-rays. They do sometimes send labs to a vendor that will then bill you separately even if you paid a copay and bill for what you thought were all the charges for the visit. Its now been 55 minutes. I guess I live hereEdited to add why do I need to upload my license and insurance card every. Time. I. Make. An. Appointment. So aggravating keep better records.Additional edit an hour and 11 minutes after my appointment to get into an exam room. Its been an hour and 57 minutes and Im still waiting to see a practitioner.Edit one month later The diagnosis I received at this clinic was incorrect which I found out at an appointment with an actual doctor not a PA that I made a week later when I had no change with the medication I was prescribed at this location. Im sure theyll still bill me though.

Wonderful experience here today booked online and filled out paperwork ahead of arriving waited in my truck until they were ready for me. Waiting room was empty clean with an anti-viral machine purifying the air. Fast efficient attentive wonderful staff. Not that I hope I will be back soon but would recommend PIC to anyone. I hope people are aware of what medical professionals are going through right now with the increased volume and demand but this group is doing amazing. Thank you Dr. Kate

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
