I made an online appointment for 940 am the following day. I was in the patient room at 939 had my vitals checked soon after and then the doctor came in. Super friendly and helpful staff. Doctor checked me over and told me what was wrong. Gave me options for treatment which was nice. I highly recommend Physicians Immediate Care for your health needs. Ill be back.

I a veteran with a 100 disability was initially refused service after being referred here by the Rockford VA for care even though they are contracted by the VA directly to provide services to veterans eligible for care. I had to litigate with the billing department while literally in the waiting room having to fight for them to bill the VA instead of myself. Ultimately I was charged 75 copay which I was not supposed to be charged and not provided any actual care outside of a prescriptionfor antibiotics. Tax dollars well spent

Went in with a bad ear infection. Doctor was awful and the visits take an absurd amount of time. Prescribed a useless antibiotic the first time. Went back after seven days and no improvement to be prescribed another antibiotic that doesnt work and ear drops that I was physically unable to get filled at the pharmacy for a couple days. This clinic is not your answer if theres something very wrong with you. If its something EXTREMELY minor maybe. Otherwise go somewhere else.

MY EXPERIENCEBefore seeing the doctor ask who is there If its the older lady worth the wait. If not find a different location. The middle age lady will give no answers and just throw an antibiotic or send you to the ER when she should have just given an antibiotic. Also They do not perform tests currently. We went with my daughter for symptoms of RSV about a year ago they swabbed her said no it wasntwent to the ER later that day and they swabbed her and she had RSV. This week we went for a strep test they swabbed her cheek said negative went to her PCP later that day test came back positive. Front desk ladies are amazing Ive been in there very stressed about my child and they are so sweet. If I could give stars based on staffFront desk 5 starsNurses 2 starsMiddle aged doctor 1 starOlder lady 4 stars

Work physical went smoothly - this is immediate care so the wait can be lengthy. Be prepared. This is a paper free office and check-in is completed via phone. You can request an appointment online and register then as well. Having an appointment does not mean you will be seen at your appointment time.

Do not go here. I waited around an hour just for the nurse practitioner to tell me to go to the ER. No questions about my pain. No offer to take an X-ray....

Empty waiting room yet ended up sitting in the patient room for 1.5 hours. Not exactly urgent care. The automatic sensor overhead lights turned off on me...

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
