I went here in December was told my copay was 128. I told receptionist that my copay was 25 she said I wouldnt be seen unless I paid 128. I paid the 128 the PA was great. Trying to get my 103 overpayment back not so easy. Went to office in Palatine they were nice and tried to find the check from my insurance. Had to be over 2 weeks of unopened mail. They gave me billing department phone number. Recording said someone will be with you within 5 min 28 minutes later. I asked for number for corporate office but instead was given OM Support which was not answered. I googled corporate office and called no one answers that phone either. Not a business that understands how to do business. So disappointing.

2 hours to get stitches in while there was only one other person there and I could hear the staffs casual unrelated conversation through the door was not the best experience. neither was showing up 15 minutes after they claimed to be open and being greeted by a locked door and lights off. the stitches procedure went well so I cant be too harsh though the overall experience could have been much smoother

I had an appointment waiting room only 1 person in it. Walk in came after me. Still almost an hour later stuck in room waiting on doc who I can hear sitting with the outer office staff chatting and laughing saying she needs to maybe speed up so they can all leave on time. When pct took my temp etc said I was the 2nd person to be seen. Seriously hire docs that know what it means if youre walking into an immediate care. The word immediate means nothing to these people. We wouldnt be here if it wasnt an urgent matter.

First time at Physicians Immediate Care and highly recommend. Doctor took the time to listen to my symptoms and was compassionate. Following doctors instructions and I am now feeling better. Its so hard to find a good doctor these days and I will most likely use them again when I am under the weather.

The wait was reasonable. The doctor was very personable and spent a lot of time with me after my visit just talking through the logistics of getting prescriptions later in the evening. Sent me to a pharmacy that was actually open

I recently used Physicians Immediate Care for a suspected ear infection. I walked in about 100 without an appointment and was seen within the hour there are appointments available though. The PA was great as was the nurse. The nurse Kristen I think or Kristina was AMAZING. She made me very comfortable and was very helpful. I will definitely be coming back when needed.

Most unorganized medical facility Ive experienced in my 58 years.A new employer sent a form to the Palatine location fir new employee screening. Scheduled.. they called and said I had to reschedule because no one is there after 2pm for that service. While they were confirming the info. They couldnt find the form from the employer. After 15 minutes they said theyd have to call me back. Called 5 minutes later that they found it. I registered online and uploaded my id. I came in the following Monday they couldnt find the form again. I was here ar 1024 for a 1025 and they couldnt find it until 1042. Then they couldnt find my ID. It is now 1054 and I am finally all checked in.

While my experience with the health team has been good - their administrative procedures are questionable and unhelpful. I wasnt able to check in on their app so on arrival I asked to do so. My symptoms were written on a post it note. In the initial check up the nurse took my vitals and I informed her I needed to update the pharmacy. I assume this was written down on another post it as it never made it into my file. After waiting two hours for my pharmacy to receive it - I called and they confirmed that they sent it to my old pharmacy like my discharge papers my fault for trusting the process and not making aware on paper work. I asked if I could then update my pharmacy on file and was told that once my file was closed there was nothing they could do unless I was in the clinic. I inquired if the nurse who I already relayed this information to in person could update and was again told no. As much as the medical staff is friendly and this place is close to home I dont think it will be worth the trouble for me again in the future. Perhaps if I had submitted my request on a post it note it would have been more successful.

I had a good experience here from start to finish. I recommend making your appointment online to see the next available opening. If you decide to walk-in there will probably be a decent wait. I made an appointment and had a short wait upon arrival. Everyone was attentive and my treatment felt thorough and not rushed. Everything was clean and I would come back here again if I need to.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
