Only because 0 start is not an option. I walked in to be seen for a knee injury even though I have been there before - they just looked for every excuse...

First time at this location and we loved it The check in was very fast and my boys were seen right away. They loved Dr. Alde My youngest is usually terrified by being in the doctors office but Dr. made it so much fun for them and really put them at ease. He took the time to explain what the problem is and the solution. Highly recommended

Jonathan Alde was the physician. He made my daughter wait two hours after the original appointment that was made the day before. When he came in he said he was the only physician but only after I had to ask about the wait. Never an acknowledgment of the long wait time let alone an apology. When he finished the appointment which was not the most helpful and no more than 5 minutes he said last but not least. My appointment was at 645 and a few people came in after us why were we last Then after leaving I realized he did not call in my prescription like most physicians do unprompted and he did not follow the notes to have it sent to my preferred pharmacy. Who is this guy Service was terrible today. Midway express clinic is two minutes away. Ill be going there from now on. If there is an extended wait they should let patients know so we can decide if we want to wait two flipping hours when theres another clinic across the street

We had the best experience at the Norridge location. I showed up with a grumpy toddler who had an ear infection and the staff was so patient and flexible with us. They offered snacks and toys and just went above and beyond to make him happy and comfortable. I am very thankful.

Have been coming to the Norridge location for years for my children. All the staff work so hard they dont get enough credit. Its not easy working in the healthcare field patients truly can be so disrespectful as a nurse I can tell you people have no idea what we deal with on a daily basis and this place is no different. This immediate care facility is great I would recommend it. Its convenient fast and the staff works well to get you in and out.

First time experience here. Disorganized terrible communication. Their mistakes led to my 6yr olds antibiotic prescription not getting sent to the pharmacy. Still dont have his prescription. Its going to be at least a two day delay at this point of no medicine after they called us with results and that they were prescribing something. Its wild that we were told blatantly wrong information multiple times. To be fair it seems that the issue stems from one front desk employee. Still when they learned this information they didnt attempt to do anything to rectify the situation in a timely manner.

I went into physicians immediate care as a walk in with bad cold symptoms. They were very prompt and professional diagnosing me and providing wellness solution. I was in an out quickly which is much appreciated when not feeling good. I have visited this location in the past and will definitely go back if needed

I went in for a sprained ankle. From start to finish the staff was absolutely courteous polite and caring. The Xray tech I wish I remembered her name was absolutely amazing. This is my go to when I dont have to go to the ER.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
