The best experience Ive ever had with a quick care. I brought three kids 1 5 6 to this facility for a visit with my son 5 and we were in and out within an hour. In my opinion immediate care professionals are uncomfortable with children but Dr. Sears was the opposite. He made me as a mom feel heard and my son felt comfortable. He answered all my questions and examined my son throughly. As a mom of three its stressful going anywhere especially the doctor but they made the process easy and quick. Thats exactly what I needed. Highly recommend The facility is clean quiet and updated. WiFi was easily accessible for my 1 year old to watch a show too.

I arrived just before 8 a.m. scheduled opening time but the office did not open until 815. No appointment is required here. After the normal first-time patient paperwork was completed I was called in. The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall it was a decent experience. I would not have a problem going back.

The medical assistance there do not know how to take blood pressure. Neither does the physicians assistant. It is a waste of your time. If youre just going for a basic physical. Go somewhere else theyll treat you better. I was left in a room for over half an hour but they continued to be unable to take my blood pressure accurately. Find another place. Do not go to this site in new Lenox.

We saw Dr. Bielman last night for my two year old son. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her and the entire staff They were so friendly and warm. Dr. Bielman took the time to explain everything to us and assess him. She was clearly knowledgeable. It was right before they closed but they never made us feel rushed. The X-ray tech was also wonderful. So patient and helpful. My son was in quite a bit of pain and she was so gentle and patient. He ended up diagnosed with nursemaids elbow and Dr. Bielman fixed it immediately. Again I truly cant say enough good things about our experience and the staff. We are so so grateful.

I usually go my own doctor when Im not feeling well but I couldnt get in to see him on short notice so I decided to try Physicians Immediate Care. I was so happy that I did. I never expected such great care. They conducted all the necessary tests and gave me all the medications that helped me recover. The staff was great and very friendly. They even sent me followup emails and phone calls. I could not have asked for a better experience.

Ive been here 4 times twice for work and twice for personal reasons and the staff is always friendly. The wait times are a little bit long and appointments are HIGHLY recommended. I love the service Ive received each time and its definitely more cost effective than the emergency room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
