No appointment but luckily fit me in. Fourth time there over last 2 years. They are always on time and very courteous. My nurse and doctor asked just the right things. The offices were clean and led to the efficiency of their work.

Stopped at PIC after my PCP office was unexpectedly closed this morning. I am a cash pay patient and very nervous about cost. I was treated with incredible professionalism by M. Ghoghawala NP. who went above and beyond to set me on the right path. She was compassionate and caring to my plight. I appreciate the posted prices and feel they are more than fair in todays health insurance crisis. I thank you very much and will confidently refer friends and family.

The physician was wonderful. She understood exactly what was going on. Im a massage therapist by profession so everything that I knew about my body it lined up with what she found in the report of findings. She was easy calm and let me explain everything that I needed to explain. A really nice physician

Place is a joke. Appointment for a TB test took them 2 hours to get me to the back and another 35 minutes for the actual test. If you have an appotment at a set time it actually isnt. I came out to ask what was going on and she looked suprised. Like she dont know I was in there for 35 minutes. Unacceptable.

I went here to get My CDL physical done. I was a walk-in and they saw me within 30 minutes of my arrival. I got there when they opened and everything moved quickly. The receptionist reminded me of a machine with how quick and Efficient she was at multitasking. Everything went smooth and I was out quick. Just the way I like it.

Very friendly staff helped get me squared away very quickly when I thought I might have a broken ankle. Turns out I got lucky this time and the visit was quick professional and informative. The brace they had for me is the best one Ive ever used and is keeping my ankle safe while I heal.

Whenever i cant get seen by my primary care doctor I choose this location and immediate care hands down. Both doctors and nurse practitioners here have been phenomenal. You get in quick and you receive proper and professional medical care. The bedside manner is top-notch and you never feel rushed or unheard. I feel cared for in every sense when I need to come here. One bonus is the x-ray machine being right there on site. My last visit in November was for double pneumonia. I got a breathing treatment flu and covid swabs and chest x-ray right there in office. The place is very clean well lit and kept up to date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
