My experience at Physicians Immediate Care Sunday February 4th was great. The facility was nice clean. I came at time when it wasnt crowded. Everyone had been serviced already so my turn was quick efficient. The receptionist was was very pleasant provided the registration link immediately. It took no more than 5 minutes to fill out the link. My wait time to see a doctor nurse practitioner wasnt long. Maybe 30minutes considering I was a walk- in. The nurse who took me vitals was very pleasant. The nurse practitioner that saw me was very pleasant as well. She showed concern about what I was feelings asked the appropriate questions so that she could properly evaluate my situation provide what I needed. She had great bed side manners. I got what I needed for my symptoms. Overall great experience. I will refer others go back if needed.

I went in after work because of my eczema and Dr. Dornan and her staff were amazing. She really helped me more than she will ever know. I felt like crying after I left because I felt like she gave her best when helping me. I was a self pay patient so her prescriptions were low cost and easy affordable for me which is extremely important not having insurance.

I had the pleasure of being seen by Nurse Practitioner Miesha. She was very nice efficient and professional. She took the time to really educate me on the issue I was having. I wish I could be a regular patient of hers. Great experience and will definitely return

First let me start by saying everyone I interacted with was very polite and friendly. I received my bill in the mail and for which the description of services is medical services very vague. So I tried calling to get my own medical records for my insurance to show what exactly I got done when I came here. Come to find that you have to literally pay in order for you to get a copy of your own medical records Seriously And on top of that they ask you if they can share your personal medical history. I dont even know how thats legal. Id go somewhere else.

Would give less than one star if I could. Needed a work required physical. Called they said it wouldnt be a problem booked the appointment for later that day. Arrived at the location checked in. Give them the form I needed for the physical with all the requirements. Sat there for an hour and waited to be called back. Went to the back they started checking me to do physical. Then halfway through they said they cannot complete because they do not do bloodwork there and they Could not complete that portion of the physical nor would the doctor sign the form for the physical. Never heard of a doctors office or urgent care that does not do bloodwork. Especially since Ive got it there in the past never dealt with such unprofessional people. Also not coincidence it was about to be closing time and they didnt seem to want to do anything anymore Lots of real hospitals in medical centers nearby save your time and your money or your insurance money on this place

I really liked that I could upload all my cards ahead of time to stream line the check in process. The receptionist was great and greeted me she was extremely nice and personable. The nurse who took me back and got my vitals and my history was great and very detailed which I appreciated. I loved the nurse practitioner she was honest that she was not sure what was wrong but went over with me that nothing was out of place to at least put me at ease. She was extremely friendly. I overall had a very pleasant visit and was in and out in about an hour or so.

I recently had a great experience at Physicians Immediate Care. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly right from the start. The clinic was impressively clean which made me feel comfortable. What really made my visit stand out was the doctors knowledge. They were thorough yet the service was quick. I definitely recommend this clinic for their efficient and caring service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment. If you are concerned about your child experiencing pain during certain exercises, especially if they may struggle to communicate and advocate for modifications, speak with their physical therapist about your concerns.
