Pediatric Associates - Winter Haven

Dr. Santana Alcantara was very rude to us and did not listen to my concerns that I had with my child. This was the first time we have ever been seen by him. My child has been feeling very sick lately and feeling like shes going to pass out and I wanted some blood drawn to check all of her levels and make sure shes healthy so I can rule any health conditions out. But he refused and told me insurance only pays 10 min every visit and that I am not allowed to come in there requesting things. He asked me what I think the blood test will show and I told him that I wasnt sure and if he could explain to me what it would show since hes the doctor and he wouldnt. I asked him what other alternative methods would he suggest and he would not answer and just kept putting me down as a mother and telling me how patients come in there all the time requesting blood work but that they dont know what they are talking about. He told me that my child just has anxiety because she was fidgety and that maybe she needs therapy or anxiety meds. Which to me why would you suggest that before making sure its not a health concern first. He then said they can take a urine sample and prick her finger which I asked why did he not just tell me that to begin with instead of putting me down for over 7 minutes. My husband then came in the room and I was crying and the Dr changed his attitude and demeanor completely and we decided to leave and not have anything done that day. The day before this appointment I actually had a virtual visit with Dr. Todd and asked his opinion on what we should do and he actually agreed that getting blood work is a good idea with all the symptoms shes having. He is the one that actually requested I come in the next day and get it done and set me an appointment. So Im not sure why this doctor treated us this way that day. It makes me want to take my child to be seen somewhere else. We have been coming to this office for years and we use to see Dr. Rowland and she was absolutely amazing but ever since shes left weve not had the best experiences but especially with Dr. Alcantara I have never in my life been spoken to like that by a doctor.

All staff are very friendly professional personable and knowledgeable. My daughter doesnt like change especially doctors but the new doctor took his time and made her feel comfortable...I extremely appreciated him...just wish I could remember his name right now.

All the 1 star reviews are correct Take warning. The switch from Pediatric Partners to Pediatric Associates was a nightmare that weve been reliving for years now. Had Dr. Norah Smith left we would have as well a long time ago. The call center doesnt know how to properly schedule appointments and trying to speak to someone at the office is impossible. The call center takes over 30 minutes just to schedule appointments and they will schedule it incorrectly and youre the one at fault according to the office. If you call to speak to the nurse or if you request a call back from the office they never call you back. A scheduled Telemed appointment can take hours waiting for a doctor to come on the line. When you call the number again the call center will tell you one thing you do it and the office staff says thats not what youre supposed to do at all. When you go in person the front desk staff are top of line rude They must take training to be as rude as they are. Tony has been there the longest and the job has taken a HUGE toll on him. He used to be friendly and helpful now he doesnt even make eye contact huffs like hes bothered to do his job and speaks down to people especially if they dont speak English. Ive seen him point to the Spanish speaking lady at the desk and shut his window in a womans face he has miserable written all over his face. The women at the front desk are less than useful and so rude. The blonde older lady...Good luck getting her name because she runs scared for the manager if you ask because she knows youre asking because shes been rude and incompetent. The manager not sure her name is just as rude. God forbid you expresss your discern and tell them they are speaking to you rudely or condescendingly because then they will discharge your kids as patients. My kids have gone here for over 10 years and this is how were treated. They get to speak to you any type of way treat you however they want but dont you dare let them know you wont tolerate it. They are power tripping condescending individuals. That entire place needs an overhaul. They dont care about your kids not one bit Run dont walk to a different pediatricians office.Edited to Add The customer service people telling you to call or email are just as useless because you can call and leave multiple messages and email numerous times and they still ignore you. This establishment doesnt care about anything but their bottom line and its not the children.

The customer service in the Edgewood Drive office is amazing.The only downfall is calling the main line and waiting on hold then finally being transferred to someone somewhere other than the clinic itself who has a deficiency in the English language.

This was our first visit and I was amazed at how friendly the staff was. Took my kids to see the doctor and was in and out in under 2 hours start to finish.

Everyone was great the only thing for us was the waiting time while in the back. My son couldve been done in 5 minutes but waited over an hour. in the back Hes 15 didnt need anything but a well check a flu shot.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.My daughter had follow up appointment for her tummy pains.I hurt my thumb on my way into the aappointment and I was given a cold compress also the doctor whom was seeing my daughter examined my finger for me. I am grateful to the staff

Pediatric Associates has always been available and provided excellent care to my children. I would wish that my kids could stay there. However my last one is reaching 21 and will no longer be able to go there. Hopefully I can find a physician and office staff as kind and loving as this one Thank you for everything over the last 21 years

I moved from Miami back in May. Ive been to this location a few times now and by far its one of the worst P.A. locations. The over the phone reps give you misinformation or dont schedule your appointments correctly. I requested a female dr for my child and when I went this past Saturday I found out it was a male dr. He gave me no information regarding my appointment. Didnt tell me my childs weight or height. All he asked if I had any concerns. Nothing else we were with the dr for Maybe 5 minutes at the most. All my children were going to the Hialeah location and would see dr. Murillo. She would ask how the kids are give me weight height and so much info regarding them and to their specific age. The front desk agents were always helpful and with a smile. The one agent lady that was there seemed frazzled and was alone. Please keep in mind prior to this I have also had other issues with this specific location Winter Haven needs A LOT OF WORK.

First visit with this practice everyone was nice and professional. The front desk the two ladies are very welcoming Dr. Alves dos Santos was great he took his time and made sure all our questions were answered. I felt very comfortable with this office.Thank you

I dont know what is happening with this place before time you were able to get an appointment to see a pediatrician but recently Dr Sandoval is never...

This place is not a place you want to bring a loved one to be treated.I feel like any office that is overcrowded during these crucial times is not a good...

People working the front Anna to be exact are extremely rude. Almost impossible to get a copy of my sons vaccines record. Had my sons vaccines record...
