Public schools in oregon are disproportionately funded. It is hard for a middle class family with a medium income to afford a home in the good school districts. While families that can afford 500k to million dollar homes can send their kids to schools raised from 8-10 families making a medium to lower i.come ate left to send their kids to schools rTed 3-5. Then you winder why rural people are so ignorant.

So basically this school district is saying that people of color are so dumb that they shouldnt have to apply themselves in school or even proficiency tests. These are basic skills needed to get through college and a get a decent job. The state of Oregon as a whole is turning into a ghetto. Crime is already driving out large corporations and now this foolishness with these schools will make things worse. Headed straight to hell

Lowering the standards for people to graduate just undervalues any Diploma coming out of Oregon. Our kids will be at a disadvantage thanks to this department. Private school it is for my children.

If I could give negative stars I would. We moved to Idaho just so our kids could go back into the classroom. There isnt enough space to write how bad Oregon is. But I will say this much. I should have sued Sherwood School District for the repeated violations of my sons IEP at the charter school. And nevermind the wokeness.

My experience teaching low income students has been both rewarding and depressing. Measure 5 was passed when I started my teaching career and for the 20 years since then issue of CLASS SIZE has NOT been addressed for low income students.Yes...students in wealthier school districts get class size relief because the PARENT groups pay for it.But who pays for it in low income districts NO ONE and so it continues....THIS IS AN EQUITY ISSUE. This needs to be fixed now Students from low income homes have the RIGHT to experience classrooms that are comfortable not crowded not smelly...and to have EQUAL access to the teacher.Overcrowded classrooms mean that some students do not get equal time with the teacher. With your overzealous attention on TESTING....it is usually the higher performing poor kids who do NOT get as much teacher time because the teacher is required to focus on the low kids so that they can pass the test.I am VERY disappointed in ALL state leaders involved in the educating of children

Something needs to be do about kids being shuffled on through even though they have Fs for grades. It is a shame that kids graduate and cant read or write that is bull and someone needs to answer for it.
