Nystrom & Associates - Otsego Clinic

Ive been going to nystrom for years now. I like that my therapist and psychiatrist are in the same building. At the otsego location the staff is very friendly and I always see the same people at the desk when I come in.

I called this location for a general mental health testing and someone here scheduled me for a substance abuse disorder evaluation. I was under the impression the whole time up until my appointment that I was going in for what I wanted scheduled. I got to my appointment and went through the whole SUD evaluation thinking I was there for a general mental health testing and the person running the evaluation was confused as to why I was there only AFTER she was done evaluating me. It never was mentioned to me while I was there what I was there for. After the appointment she apologized and said she would refer me to what I actually needed. Now I have to wait months before being seen. Im very upset.

They shut down the DBT program half way through and then had the audacity to charge us for a missed appointment.So they get paid in full for DBT therapy that they didnt fully provide but we have to shell out 118 for a missed appointment.Give me a break. Alissa Christenson the therapist is the one who charged us for the missed appointment. Now weve been turned over to a collections agency. For 118. Absolutely hilarious.It will be a cold day in hell before I pay one penny of that bill.Update In response to the response from Nystrom below we DID request to waive the fee. It WAS reviewed. It was denied. Absolutely ridiculous. As for the other options we were not given any reasonable options. We were told we could go to another location thirty minutes away. You guys are the WORSTWe will NEVER pay. Not in a million years.

Alissa and Amber are two of the best individuals I have been able to meet so far. I know that there is always a unique bond between therapist and client. I know I dont know them on that everyday level but I truly LOVE having them. Thank you for all you do

Two appts cancelled due to Nystrom error. They dont make you feel important when they should. I should have believed the reviews on google and yelp but I didnt. And now I wasted over two months waiting for appts that never happened. Would never recommend them for someone in need.

Theyve taken the time needed to really get to know me so they can figure out what my diagnosis is. When I talk to them weekly or monthly whichever the case may be I really feel like I am talking to my friends.

I have had nothing but a good experience with the Nystrom Associates Otsego Office. The office staff are delightfully helpful and kind. The scheduling has been prompt. The paperwork has been doable. The providers have really listened to me - I feel heard - and the services have been helpful.

I have reached out to management with no response. Saying that Im extremely disappointed with my experience here doesnt even cover it. This office broke HIPPA privacy laws when they sent my personal medical bill to my father along with poor quality therapy from the provider that was a waste of time. I changed the paperwork on the date of my first visit including the insurance plan which has completely changed - I am the sole individual on my insurance plan not my father. The individual at the billing office said that the guarantor on the account wasnt changed until 911 my first appointment so thats why he was billed. Yet the statement date reads 914 so that excuse does not line up. The paperwork was changed THREE DAYS before the bill was sent out. I have never once had a medical bill be addressed to someone else even when I was under my parents health insurance. With a change to insurance why would the bill be sent to the OLD insurance plan That also makes no sense to me and it just frankly feels like a bogus excuse to disregard their mistake. With the sensitivity that comes with mental health Im shocked that this service does not take health privacy more seriously. What if this was sent to someone and now risked their personal safetyOn to the actual appointment the first appointment was just doing the standard asking of questions and writing notes. Then a diagnosis. No advice no guidance Pretty much just paying a co-pay for a visit thats entirely heres what you have when do you want to do your next appointment. I decided to give it another try and the provider kind of just sat down and stared at me the whole time. Didnt ask questions. Just waited for me to talk.In addition the bill was not sent to my insurance. Why Why not Another it wasnt on file until the 11th story - but again the statement date is 914 three days after my first appointment. Id stay far far away from this place.

Jasmine Lindberg is an incredible provider. She is kind patient and she listens to your needs. After every visit I feel such a sense of calm. I would recommend her to anyone with zero hesitation.
