Love the drs and its clean and quick to be seen however one of the woman who answers the phones is so snippy and rude every time I call. It makes me want to change pediatricians.

My daughter had been going to the Starke location for less than a year now. We didnt have any issues a couple of long waits and she never saw the same doctor. I think that might be what led to a major miscommunication on their part. She is in need of speech therapy and in August they told me they would refer her. Six weeks later I asked and they said it had not happened but that their referral person quit that day so someone would call Early Steps for me directly. I heard nothing so I called and asked again for her to be referred. Then I get two phone calls from two different speech centers none of them Early Steps. I called back to say they told me about Early steps in the beginning and it seemed like a good fit so could I specifically be referred there. Now this is January. I get a call from the referral for all offices she says she sent it in and to give them a few weeks to process. Finally after calling Early Steps and not connecting with anyone I reached out to the regional resource person for Early steps in my county. She connects me to someone and turns out no referral on record for my daughter I do not normally make bad reviews but watching my daughter struggle to voice her thoughts and knowing she would be further along if I didnt have to chase down all this myself makes me upset. We will be switching to a different pediatrician that I hope will have better communication skills and organization.

Terrible. I was put on hold three separate times. Talked to three different people. I was asked the same questions each time. 15 mins of being on the phone just to get shot records. Ive made appointments before just to show up and them turn me away. Every person in there is cold distant and quick with an attitude. Im glad I moved and Im so glad that I can find another primary for my children. No one in there should have a job dealing with the public let alone kids.

I used to love taking my son to this doctors office. They were super nice. But today was just ridiculous. I had an appointment at 850am and I completely forgot. I called the Office as any responsible parent or person would do. btw you never get the office it goes straight to the operator and if you need to speak with someone you would have to ask to be transferred. I informed the operator that I was running late. the operator asked me about how long I would be I said that I would maybe be 3 to 5 minutes late. this was at 856am when I called. The operator said that would be fine. I arrived at the pediatrics office at 903am just 3 minuets after the originally stated 3 to 5 minutes. there was a parent at the window. I knew that I was going to be even later that what I originally stated but I couldnt very well push this woman out of the way. so I waited for her to finish at the window. By the time this woman was done I got to the window at about 907am. the assistant at the window informed me that there was something wrong with my mobile check in that i would have to do it again. I told her that it was no problem. as I sat down and got comfortable I was called back to the window. Where the assistant says there are two new patient walk- ins and we need to reschedule your appointment. when I heard that I just started to get so upset. I kept my composure because I wasnt going to make a scene in front of the other parents and there children. so i took the appointment and called the operator back to let them know what happened. I spoke to the same operator that said it was alright to come in. after I had explained what happened the operator told me to hold on while she called the doctors office. when she got back she told me that I had just gotten there it was well over the time that I had given her. I proceeded to tell her that it wasnt true. and that i had an appointment and I should take priority as an established patient. she kept saying that I was late and she wanted to argue with me. So i informed her to please cancel my appointment that I will be fining a new provider. She then just hung up on me. They were so rude and wrong for what they did. I do not recommend. also if you decide not to give your child certain vaccines they will drop you as a patient. Also when I stated to see this pediatric office I noticed that there were a lot of new people. I dont think they can keep there good employees happy. Heed my warnings yall do not take your kids here.

I would recommend ANY family to this practice. The office staff has always gone above and beyond. The practice is owned by a couple that send surveys and are open to know how us parentscaregivers are being taken care of as well as the patients. They accept walk-ins have after hours including every weekend. Yes the weekend hours are in the Lake City office but they do try to make sure their families have a place to turn even WHEN children are sick AFTER office hours. Which as a parentcaregiver of a child will most likely experience at some point.

I have had nothing but good experience here. When the hospital looked and question me like I was stupid for bring my son in when he was sick telling me nothing was wrong I took him in to see his DR. And was told double ear infection and almost pneumonia. My son had to have 3 days worth of shots he was so sick. Ive had no issues with any of the staff always have been great.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy rooted in the science of learning and behavior. Using principles of ABA, children and adults can learn to improve their communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills while also addressing problematic or challenging behaviors. The primary goal of ABA therapy is to teach helpful skills that promote independence and reduce harmful behaviors. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
It's a big decision to make for your family! Applied behavior analysis (ABA) seeks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. Watch out for ABA providers who look to "cure" autism.
High quality ABA therapy does exist where the goal is not to “fix” children, make them appear “less autistic”, or change who they are. The goal is to help people learn all that they can so they can live to their potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. Here's our complete guide to start and end ABA therapy.
ABA is usually covered by insurance if you have an autism diagnosis. Autism is typically the only diagnosis insurance will authorize for ABA services since its benefits have been researched extensively.
Always check with your specific insurance plan to confirm that ABA is covered for your child’s diagnoses and that the provider you are seeking care at is in-network. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
Autism-friendly camps come in all shapes and sizes, making it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs. An autism-friendly camp may come in the form of a day camp, meaning you drop your child off in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon, or as an overnight camp. The camp programs can range in length from a few days to a few weeks. The campers that attend autism-friendly camps may be autistic only or a mixture of neurotypical and neurodivergent kids. When it comes to support for your child, some camps offer 1:1 support while others have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio.
When choosing the perfect camp for your child there are five key things you should keep in mind:
Interests: What does your child like to do? A sports camp probably wouldn’t be a good fit for your little bookworm. Finding the right summer camp that sparks your child’s excitement will aid in transitioning to and from camp, while also ensuring they enjoy their experience.
Professional Support: How much support does your child need? A traveling camp may not be best for your child who tends to elope. Some camps offer 1:1 support for your child, while others may have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio. When looking for a camp, pay close attention to those ratios to ensure there is adequate support for your child’s unique needs.
Specializations: Does the camp specialize in a specific area? If your child is nonverbal and the camp has excellent experience working with nonverbal children, it may be the perfect fit!
Responsiveness and Accommodations: Pay special attention to camps that meet with you one-on-one either by phone, video chat, or in person, to mark out a personalized support plan for your child. You can relax knowing they’re on top of things and making sure your child is properly supported. Don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions —a great camp will welcome them!
Location and Commitment: Not many people like a long commute. You know your child’s comfort level better than anyone else, so you’ll know what’s best for them, whether it’s a half-day camp, a full day, or an overnight experience.
