If you care about your kids do not take them here. Im a nurse practitioner and understand a busy office Im very forgiving of the occasional mix up but this place is a joke. Constant changing of staff the only doctor that actually would do a complete exam on my kids left a few months ago.

Updated... Weve been coming here since Dr Mary. We were sad to see her go but we really like Dr. Cohen as well. He has a great bedside manner and is straight forward about things. Will continue to use them until my kids age out of pediatrics.

We loved Dr. Mary but the place has gone downhill since changing hands to north Florida Pediatrics. Weve had two appointments where we clearly state the reason for the appointment at scheduling only to be told they cant help us at the visit. Also they have no respect for the patients time and often run 45 minutes to 1 hour late for appointments. Ive moved my family to another practice.

Doctors are excellent but the front desk service is terrible. Its the rudest customer service Ive encountered in the US.

Dr. Mary Soha was the only reason we initially went to this practice. She retired abruptly and Dr. Cohen Jacksonville took over. We have NOT been please whatsoever and have since left the practice. It would take DAYS to fill my childs ADHD medication every single MONTH. Cohen didnt deem this as urgent and would take forever to approve the refill with the pharmacy. The office staff now are rude and inefficient. The only person in the entire practice that knows what they are doing is Desiree in the Lake City office. I was blessed to get her on the phone a couple times and she quickly alleviated the problem and got my sons medication into the pharmacy. She would personally follow up with me on status of the medication. When I told her how unhappy I was with the practice she immediately tried to fix it and put my in contact with another in house provider. She is an asset. I might have stayed if she was not in Lake City. Great job Desiree. Everyone else needs to KEEP UP.

Veasnas wife writing reviewI have been bringing my son here for almost 6 yrs now and he has been treated with the best care. He was a preemie and as soon as he turned 1 suffered 7 ear infections in 1 yr. Our previous dr did nothing to help. It wasnt until after he was treated by an ENT that we told him we switched to Dr. Soha and even he spoke greatly about her and her practice. The staff has always listened with care to each question and concern Ive ever had at appts and have been very prompt with emergency calls on nights weekends which thankfully have not been that often. A big plus for me my son is not scared of the going to the dr its a very warm environment. IMO this is not a holistic practice if there are home remedies that work for your child - of course they have recommended them however if there are medicines that work I have preferred those to improve the health and well being of my child.

Did a Meet and Greet and they agreed to accept my 11 yr old as a patient. Completed the records release form. Several weeks and many hoops later trying to get records they decided they were not accepting new patients. Very dishonest and now claiming I was told at meet and greet they would not accept her as a new patient. When I challenged this it was dubbed as a miscommunication. I consider it a blessing in disguise to find out the dishonesty prior to joining their practice.

Im not sure how the dr is but the front desk lady is a real b. We had what we thought was a 900 am appointment and arrived at 854. She said it was for 845 and would ot let us in. There were no other patients waiting amd this was after informing the dr that we had 2 sick babies. Seriously I wanted to go off on the front lady. She needs to retire and never be heard from again. She actually said nothing but we cant see you. It was a wow face moment for sure. I would be ok if the place burned down.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy rooted in the science of learning and behavior. Using principles of ABA, children and adults can learn to improve their communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills while also addressing problematic or challenging behaviors. The primary goal of ABA therapy is to teach helpful skills that promote independence and reduce harmful behaviors. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
It's a big decision to make for your family! Applied behavior analysis (ABA) seeks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. Watch out for ABA providers who look to "cure" autism.
High quality ABA therapy does exist where the goal is not to “fix” children, make them appear “less autistic”, or change who they are. The goal is to help people learn all that they can so they can live to their potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. Here's our complete guide to start and end ABA therapy.
ABA is usually covered by insurance if you have an autism diagnosis. Autism is typically the only diagnosis insurance will authorize for ABA services since its benefits have been researched extensively.
Always check with your specific insurance plan to confirm that ABA is covered for your child’s diagnoses and that the provider you are seeking care at is in-network. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
Autism-friendly camps come in all shapes and sizes, making it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs. An autism-friendly camp may come in the form of a day camp, meaning you drop your child off in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon, or as an overnight camp. The camp programs can range in length from a few days to a few weeks. The campers that attend autism-friendly camps may be autistic only or a mixture of neurotypical and neurodivergent kids. When it comes to support for your child, some camps offer 1:1 support while others have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio.
When choosing the perfect camp for your child there are five key things you should keep in mind:
Interests: What does your child like to do? A sports camp probably wouldn’t be a good fit for your little bookworm. Finding the right summer camp that sparks your child’s excitement will aid in transitioning to and from camp, while also ensuring they enjoy their experience.
Professional Support: How much support does your child need? A traveling camp may not be best for your child who tends to elope. Some camps offer 1:1 support for your child, while others may have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio. When looking for a camp, pay close attention to those ratios to ensure there is adequate support for your child’s unique needs.
Specializations: Does the camp specialize in a specific area? If your child is nonverbal and the camp has excellent experience working with nonverbal children, it may be the perfect fit!
Responsiveness and Accommodations: Pay special attention to camps that meet with you one-on-one either by phone, video chat, or in person, to mark out a personalized support plan for your child. You can relax knowing they’re on top of things and making sure your child is properly supported. Don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions —a great camp will welcome them!
Location and Commitment: Not many people like a long commute. You know your child’s comfort level better than anyone else, so you’ll know what’s best for them, whether it’s a half-day camp, a full day, or an overnight experience.
